Bangladesh in West Indies ODI Series - 3rd ODI

West Indies v Bangladesh

West Indies won by 91 runs

And it is game time, with Chris Gayle and Lendl Simmons to lead West Indies' charge. Their first challenge will be offspinner Sohag Gazi, with a slip and a deep leg slip

Both teams lined up on either side of the pitch for a minute's silence to pay tribute to former Jamaican umpire Douglas Sang Hue, who died last Friday.

Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha: "We expected WI to play well at home. For Bangladesh, it is a bit of a challenge coming from sub-continent. There are a lot of positives for us from the first 2 games. Motivation comes from individuals. We batted really well in the first game, so the know what went wrong. At the end of the day, they have to do it in the middle."

Mushfiqur Rahim quotes from the toss: "We also wanted to bat first. The wicket looks very good. We didn't play like a team in the last two games. Hopefully we can stick together as a group.Hopefully our top six batters take the responsibility. We have to restrict them to a modest total and do well to chase it."

Dwayne Bravo quotes from the toss: "It is a ground known for high-scoring games, so we want to take the opportunity to bat 50 overs and score 275-plus. Welook forward to a great bowling performance later in the day."

2.22pm Some pitch news for you as Jeff Dujon reckons the wicket is a bit dry, but still a good batting surface, so expect a strong total to be posted by the team batting first on this track.

Just ten minutes away from kicking off things in Basseterre!

Anon06: "Really hoped that Russell would get a game as he his, without a doubt, the best all-rounder in the region. And I'm not saying this because of his CPL expliots. Look at his WI-A records against Ban A earlier this year. List A century striking at over 220 and a 6-for in the next game."

David: "Any other changes to the West Indies XI? I had heard that Russel was coming in? - I'm hoping he doesn't replace Holder."

asif khan: "good selection by bangladesh i think mominul deserve this chance,so hopefully play good cricket today best of luck"

2.20pm Not that I want to get ahead of myself here, but some unfortunate news if you are a Badree fan, as the tweaker will miss the lone T20 scheduled for this series on August 27 as a result of an injury, with Suliemann Benn being named his replacement in the squad.

Oliver Jones: "@Rutul: It's clear that someone at the top has decided they need to clamp down on it all. Now if only the UCI could take such a firm stance with doping in cycling, and sport would be on the mend!"

2.15pm Not a big surprise as to why Edwards and Shamsur were dropped, as both players produced a series of low scores, scoring 10 and 12 runs in two innings respectively this series. Both Sammy and Mominul come in without too much ODI experience of late, as Mominul is playing his first since June, while Sammy hasn't graced the format since early March.

Rutul: "I have got a good debate question for you: why have so many bowlers been reported for their bowling actions in the past year as oppose to the previous years"

For those who love their trivia: This is the first one-day international at Warner Park to be scheduled as a day/nighter. West Indies will hope to secure a victory in that honour, and seal only the third ODI series whitewash for the team in 22 years.

2.10pm Some team news for you good folks as Kirk Edwards makes way for Darren Sammy, while Bangladesh make the one change with Mominul Haque coming in for Shamsur Rahman.

2.05pm Another fantastic piece from our resident Bangladesh cricket expert, Mohammad Isam, as he uncovers the truth behind the stuttering efforts of the team off late, and ponders whether it might be more of a frailty in the mental makeup of the players.

Toss: West Indies have won and have chosen to bat first

We are just awaiting news from the toss...

2.00pm While this has been out for a little while, it is still big news in the context of the series as Bangladesh offspinner, Sohag Gazi, was reported for a suspect bowling action during the second ODI in Grenada against the West Indies on the 22nd.

1.55pm Interesting stat this one: West Indies have only managed two ODI series' whitewashes in the last 22 years (once against Zimbabwe in 2013, and once before against Bangladesh in 2004). Bangladesh will be hoping to avoid a similar fortune today

Darroll: "its been a while since we have had a day night...bowl first its gonna be slippery"

1.50pm If you haven't already, do check out Mohammad Isam's insightful preview for this third ODI. It is filled to the brim with some useful analysis, especially looking at the way Bangladesh faltered from a seemingly stable position in the second ODI, to one of a more farcical nature.

1.45pm Hello and welcome to this third and final ODI between West Indies and Bangladesh in beautiful St. Kitts & Nevis. For those who need a refresher, Bangladesh have already lost the series and are looking to avoid a whitewash, while West Indies will hope to continue building momentum as the series progresses into the lone T20 and Tests.

0.1

Sohag Gazi to Simmons, no run, flighted on and around off stump, brings Simmons forward into a drive to the covers

0.2

Sohag Gazi to Simmons, FOUR, flatter and shorter and he's spotted it extremely early, rocked back and drilled it through extra cover. Put away with considerable strength

0.3

Sohag Gazi to Simmons, no run, better there, and the captain agrees from behind the stumps. Flighted on off stump and pushed to short cover

0.4

Sohag Gazi to Simmons, no run, brings down an angled blade to a flighted delivery on off stump

0.5

Sohag Gazi to Simmons, no run, a little straighter and Simmons has tapped it to mid-on

0.6

Sohag Gazi to Simmons, 1 run, full face of the bat to answer this one that was given some air on middle, Long-on gets a look in

End of over 1 (5 runs) West Indies 5/0 (RR: 5.00)
LMP Simmons    5* (6b 1x4)      Sohag Gazi    1-0-5-0
CH Gayle    0* (0b)

dylan: "Too many all rounders in the W.I team for my liking. Bravo, Pollard, Sammy and Holder?? I hope they don't go into the world cup with such a line up because if the top order gets blown away they wont score too many." Perhaps that's why, they are looking to get this batting line-up some practice? Pitch looks a beauty. Lets see if Mashrafe Mortaza can get it to do something... Slip and short cover in place

1.1

Mashrafe Mortaza to Simmons, 1 run, back of a length on off stump, Simmons stood up tall and punched back down the pitch. He set off straight away, but Gayle was ball-watching before getting on his bike. The fielding though wasn't quite sharp enough at mid-on to pose a threat

1.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to Gayle, no run, pushes it full on middle, cramps Gayle up and forces him to a push down the ground.

1.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to Gayle, 1 run, not as keen on the front foot but Mortaza's length doesn't give him much choice. Gets an inside edge to deep fine leg

1.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Simmons, no run, Goes back and across and blocks a shortish ball on the stumps

1.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to Simmons, no run, Stays on his crease and opens the face of the bat to negotiate a shorter ball on off stump

1.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Simmons, no run, Plays around a fuller ball on middle, should've been forward. A little nip in makes him miss his flick and strikes on the pads. Appeal from Mortaza, but that would've slid down leg

End of over 2 (2 runs) West Indies 7/0 (RR: 3.50)
LMP Simmons    6* (10b 1x4)      Mashrafe Mortaza    1-0-2-0
CH Gayle    1* (2b)      Sohag Gazi    1-0-5-0

Al-Amin has taken over the new ball now, although there seems to be the faintest of drizzles

2.1

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, no run, fuller and angled across the left-hander, Gayle lets it pass through to the keeper

2.2

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, no run, a little shorter and Gayle punches to short cover, very crisp sound off the bat.

2.3

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, no run, pushes him back with a shorter length, but this time there is no room. Gayle realises that and blocks

2.4

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, no run, lovely line there, teasing along the fifth-sixth stump and Gayle refuses the play

2.5

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, no run, pulls his length back a touch, but his line is quite probing. Pitching on off and straightening just a touch. Gayle, as he normally is so early in the knock, stays watchful and leaves

2.6

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, no run, finds a good length but the angle across him was evident enough to be left alone quite comfortably

"I would like Pollard to bat at 4. He is by no means an all rounder and has tremendous batting potential. He only needs to be given more responsibility. And if he gets in no target is big enough." Javed doesn't like a big six-footer rolling in medium pace, it seems

End of over 3 (maiden) West Indies 7/0 (RR: 2.33)
CH Gayle    1* (8b)      Al-Amin Hossain    1-1-0-0
LMP Simmons    6* (10b 1x4)      Mashrafe Mortaza    1-0-2-0

3.1

Mashrafe Mortaza to Simmons, no run, shortish on middle, Simmons gets up on his toes and taps back to the bowler

3.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to Simmons, OUT, far too soon for those kinds of shots, even if the pitch seems terribly inviting to the batsmen. Simmons, slotted in to open for the first time for the series, rushes down the pitch and goes for the heave ho. Miscues it and offers a skier to mid-off

LMP Simmons c Mahmudullah b Mashrafe Mortaza 6 (13m 12b 1x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

"@Dylan. I don't have a problem with the number of all-rounders is the top 4 batsmen fire. The all-rounders are there to provide power to chase or score big totals, and also give bowling options." Kristopher perhaps won't be pleased that Darren Bravo is in so early

3.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to Gayle, no run, fullish on middle and leg, Gayle steps forward and blocks

3.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Gayle, no run, shortish on off stump, Gayle stands up tall and punches to mid-off

3.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to Gayle, no run, targeting the top of off stump and Gayle is forced to protect it

3.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Gayle, 1 run, tucked away through midwicket, but there is protection in the deep.

End of over 4 (1 run) West Indies 8/1 (RR: 2.00)
CH Gayle    2* (12b)      Mashrafe Mortaza    2-0-3-1
DM Bravo    0* (0b)      Al-Amin Hossain    1-1-0-0

Bangladesh will be pleased with this start, while West Indies will hope their top order don't lose their head in a similar fashion to the first ODI..

4.1

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, no run, spraying this wide across the big left-hander as he can't be coaxed into chasing this one

4.2

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, no run, shifts the line a bit closer to the batsman, but still going across him, as Gayle stands tall to defend this away to the off side

4.3

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, FOUR, just silken from Gayle as he waits on this length ball on middle and off before pushing this gently past the bowler to the straight boundary for four

Piash: "Bangladesh did not have to wait much for the 1st wicket in all 3 games. The 3 opening partnerships for WI were 9, 5 & 7."

4.4

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, no run, gets solidly behind this length ball on middle and off as this is punched away to mid off

4.5

Al-Amin Hossain to Gayle, OUT, and Al-Amin gets his man as he bowls one on a fantastic line as this just shapes away from Gayle on a middle line, with the batsman guilty of hanging his bat as the ball catches the outside edge to offer a simple chance behind to Mushfiqur, who snaps it up gleefully. Al-Amin is pumped and Bangladesh are sniffing some early blood here

CH Gayle c †Mushfiqur Rahim b Al-Amin Hossain 6 (17m 17b 1x4 0x6) SR: 35.29

The new batsman for the West Indies is Denesh Ramdin, who is a surprising choice for No. 4

4.6

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run, short of a length outside off as Ramdin shoulders arms

The Rock: "I know it's really too early to predict anything. As a fan, I am really hoping that Bangladesh do the rights things properly and finds a way to win this game. It's mentally soimportant for Bangladeshi players to find their winning habits and end these losing streak finally"

End of over 5 (4 runs) West Indies 12/2 (RR: 2.40)
D Ramdin    0* (1b)      Al-Amin Hossain    2-1-4-1
DM Bravo    0* (0b)      Mashrafe Mortaza    2-0-3-1

5.1

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, no run, right on target as this is pitched up on middle, with Darren getting behind this one comfortably

5.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, no run, short of a length going across the batsman as this one is allowed through to the keeper

5.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, no run, length ball going across as Darren cannot be tempted into going for the drive

Sivakrishna Don: "What happened to Sammuels ? injured or not picked for this series ?"

5.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, no run, looking to play this fuller one going across him in front of square on the leg side, but instead mishits it as the ball rolls harmlessly towards the off side

5.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, no run, content to just fend this fuller one away to the off side

5.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, 1 run, too full from Mortaza as Darren looks for the drive square off the wicket through the off side, but can't get it past the fielder at point, who puts in a dive to cut it off from going behind him

david: "I think Ramdin has come back into the team in 2012 he has been a different player with the bat, he has been as good as any batsman in the team across all formats."

End of over 6 (1 run) West Indies 13/2 (RR: 2.16)
DM Bravo    1* (6b)      Mashrafe Mortaza    3-0-4-1
D Ramdin    0* (1b)      Al-Amin Hossain    2-1-4-1

6.1

Al-Amin Hossain to DM Bravo, 1 run, honing on the pads as Darren, who should have clipped this off the pads, instead digs this out towards the off side, and is able to sneak a run before the ball reaches mid off

6.2

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run, Ramdin gets forward to defend the ball that is pitched outside off

6.3

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run, this short of length delivery keeps a touch low, Ramdin handles it well though

Arvin: "I just wanna say something dylan, Holder is not a designated all rounder. He's just a luxury. He is a promising young bowler that can also happens to work some magic with the bat. His role is as a bowler, he just happens to be a good batsman as well."

6.4

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run

6.5

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run

6.6

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run, hits just short of a length, thuds into Ramdin's bat as he defends off the back foot

End of over 7 (1 run) West Indies 14/2 (RR: 2.00)
D Ramdin    0* (6b)      Al-Amin Hossain    3-1-5-1
DM Bravo    2* (7b)      Mashrafe Mortaza    3-0-4-1

7.1

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, no run, gets back and makes a touch of room for himself to slap into the covers

7.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, no run, fuller and angled across him, Bravo likes that though as he gets forward and flays to short point.

7.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, no run, tucks him up on middle and leg, Bravo works it to short midwicket

"How unlucky mortaza is as he missed to get maiden in both of his last 2 overs as a single is taken in the last ball of the over after 5 dot balls." I'm sure he wouldn't mind that much, Piash. Its all about the pressure

7.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, no run, pitched fuller on off stump, Bravo eases it down to mid-off. No single there

7.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, FOUR, whack! That's been dismissed. A little too full and Bravo enjoys a full swing of the arms and enjoys a one-bounce for to long-off. Stunning

7.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, FOUR, he's pierced the gap in the off side ring! There was short point, there was short cover, there was orthodox cover and all of them could only watch as he went on the back foot and drilled it to the boundary

"6 singles from 7 overs West Indies batsmen really don't know how to rotate strike" They do know how to make up though, don't they, prajith?

End of over 8 (8 runs) West Indies 22/2 (RR: 2.75)
DM Bravo    10* (13b 2x4)      Mashrafe Mortaza    4-0-12-1
D Ramdin    0* (6b)      Al-Amin Hossain    3-1-5-1

8.1

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run, shortish and has enough width for Ramdin to steer towards point, might have waited a little more to beat that man

8.2

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run, fuller on and around off stump, Ramdin is forward with a push to mid-on

8.3

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, FOUR, straying on the pads and Ramdin helps himself, seemed just a push through through midwicket but his balance and timing were near-perfect. Small boundaries help too

8.4

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run, eyes lit up as he saw width on a fuller ball outside off, went for a booming cover drive but was a little too eager as he meets the ball too early and inside edges it

8.5

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, no run, fullish and just outside off, tapped off the front foot to cover

8.6

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, 1 run, chopped a shortish ball around the off stump, that time he waited long enough to beat point

End of over 9 (5 runs) West Indies 27/2 (RR: 3.00)
D Ramdin    5* (12b 1x4)      Al-Amin Hossain    4-1-10-1
DM Bravo    10* (13b 2x4)      Mashrafe Mortaza    4-0-12-1

Bangladesh turn to their highest wicket-taker in ODIs, Abdur Razzak

9.1

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, no run, skids on after pitching on a good length to rap Ramdin on the pads, but that would have headed down leg. Good start

9.2

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, 3 runs, cut from off stump, but Ramdin has struck it quite well. Rocked back, as far as he could go, made a touch of room to free his arms and benefits with three runs

9.3

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, no run, stays back to a shortish ball and blocks, not much turn there, Mushy shouts, "lets not let it go"

9.4

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, no run, flighted on middle and leg, Bravo goes for the sweep but can't connect

9.5

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, no run, looped up on middle and Bravo is drawn into a forward defensive

9.6

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, no run, oopsy! Captain is disgusted with himself as he misses a stumping. Lovely flight from the bowler, and it caused the mistake as Bravo danced down the track. Had him feeling for it, overestimated the turn and should have been gone. But Mushfiqur fumbled it.

End of over 10 (3 runs) West Indies 30/2 (RR: 3.00)
DM Bravo    10* (17b 2x4)      Abdur Razzak    1-0-3-0
D Ramdin    8* (14b 1x4)      Al-Amin Hossain    4-1-10-1

10.3

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, no run, flighted on leg stump, Bravo puts his bat in front of pad

10.4

10.5

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, 2 runs, shortish and has enough room for Bravo to swat it through the covers

Wahid: "How could you miss that, Mushfiq!"

10.6

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, no run, flighted on off stump, driven with the full face of the bat

A powerplay that Bangladesh wouldn't be unduly disappointed with, however the longer Darren Bravo stays after his reprieve, the longer their nerves will jangle

End of over 11 (3 runs) West Indies 33/2 (RR: 3.00)
DM Bravo    12* (21b 2x4)      Mahmudullah    1-0-3-0
D Ramdin    9* (16b 1x4)      Abdur Razzak    1-0-3-0

11.1

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, SIX, bye-bye ball! Sunk down on one knee and pummels a length ball, with the wind, well over the midwicket boundary. Looks like Ramdin has decided to upset the spinners

11.2

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, no run, much quicker is this one and Ramdin is not quite prepared for that. Struck on the pads, but going down

11.3

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, 1 run, pushed through on leg stump, Ramdin is a little more ready for this as he whips to deep square leg

11.4

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, no run, not quite sure whether to come forward or back, hurries into a defensive to a good length ball on off stump

11.5

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, no run, a little straighter and Bravo is far more confident tucking to midwicket

11.6

12.1

Mahmudullah to Ramdin, 1 run

12.2

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, 1 run, slower through the air and tosses it up a little more, Bravo blunts it with a dead blade and has defended soft enough to pinch a single

12.3

Mahmudullah to Ramdin, no run, flighted on middle, pushed back at the bowler

12.4

Mahmudullah to Ramdin, 1 run, fires it in on a length on off stump, Ramdin makes some room to cut off his stumps. Risky, but his timing seems to work for him

12.5

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, no run, flighted on middle and leg, kept out safely

12.6

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, 1 run, gets back and punches a good length ball through to long-off. Good footwork there from Bravo

The Rock: "Really important that Bangladesh continues to keep up the pressure. More than often BD bowlers are always guilty of being complacent and voluntarily throwing away a game . WIN still looks pretty jittery out there now and wickets will keep falling if BD bowlers can stop giving too many runs."

End of over 13 (4 runs) West Indies 45/2 (RR: 3.46)
DM Bravo    14* (27b 2x4)      Mahmudullah    2-0-7-0

Razzak continues around the wicket

13.1

13.2

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, no run, pushed through on middle and Bravo skeeps to his crease and defends

13.3

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, FOUR, taken from off stump and its a straighter bat that comes down to collect another boundary through the covers. Exquisite hitting from Bravo

13.4

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, 1 run, that's an outside edge as Bravo pokes from the crease, but there aren't any slips to assist him

13.5

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, no run, flatter and fuller on leg stump, Ramdin isn't ready for the extra pace again

13.6

14.3

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, no run, brings him forward, but Bravo's defensive blade is solid enough

14.4

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, 1 run, short and wide, but Bravo was falling down leg and only bottom edges it down to long-off

14.5

Mahmudullah to Ramdin, no run, flighted and angled in on off stump, Ramdin taps it back to the bowler

14.6

Mahmudullah to Ramdin, 1 run, lovely flight and drift outside off, but Ramdin lunges forward and drops it towards point

Saleque Sufi: "Bring back one of your pacer Mushy .One more wicket now is essential. It seems that your pacers can only get wickets. Bangladesh is missing Taskin . Is he not match fit?" Think they've just dropped him after a bit of an expensive outing

End of over 15 (2 runs) West Indies 56/2 (RR: 3.73)
D Ramdin    19* (26b 1x4 1x6)      Mahmudullah    3-0-9-0

Mortaza into the attack

Taki: "Taskin is match fit, but Abdur Razzak is worst fit"

It is drinks, and West Indies will be somewhat happy with the recovery they made after being reduced to 12 for 2 earlier on. Bangladesh will be looking for another quick wicket or two to arrest West Indies' momentum.

17.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to DM Bravo, 1 run, gets slightly forward to tuck this length ball on the pads away to mid on

Mike BACHAN: "Ramdin seems like a good number 4 batsman for WI at the moment. But 9 out of 10 West Indian does not like him batting at 4.They said he is #6,7,or 8.What do you think?"

19.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, 2 runs, short of a length outside off and Ramdin almost gifts his wicket away as he goes for a half-hearted swipe across the line, with the ball carrying high in the air before falling just in front of the man coming in from long on, who doesn't want to go for the dive as the ball falls just in front of him. Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, no run, is that something? The umpires convene to discuss. Has Ramdin gloved behind? Has it carried to the keeper? Another slower ball from Mortaza, but this time seemed to bounce a touch more than the batsman expected. Ramdin wanted to cut it off the stumps but may have ended up botching himself off a well-deserved century. Oh, not quite... The replays show the ball has bounced before Mushfiqur dived forward to take it

Danish: "Ramdin has hit only 9 sixes in his previous 111 matches , and here he has hit 5 sixes alone. that's quite an achievement."

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, no run, back of a length on off stump, pushed back at the bowler

37.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, no run, fuller on off stump, Ramdin is forward with a dead bat. Has a wry smile as he walks up to his partner to take a little time out of the game and calm himself

37.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, FOUR, short and wide, that's his bread and butter as Ramdin cuts and pierces the gap perfectly. That's his second ODI ton and he has placed his team in a commanding position. Came in at a dicey time and turned it around brilliantly

37.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, SIX, clears his front leg and hammers a length ball over extra cover. Loaded up with a big back lift and the six-hitting spree continues in St Kitts

37.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, SIX, another one! This was short on middle, Ramdin goes the other way although he didn't really connect as well. Hit it a touch high on the bat, but has powered it away over cow corner

37.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, SIX, seeks the yorker, but it isn't forthcoming. Ends up overpitched and Ramdin brings down a full face and lifts it straight over the bowler's head. Look out in the crowd!

38.1

Sohag Gazi to DM Bravo, 1 run, flighted on off stump, Bravo drops it down to point and runs. That was seriously tight, Kayes raced in, took a little time to throw it at the keeper. Could've underarmed it. Ramdin was short of his ground, but the target wasn't hit

38.2

38.3

Sohag Gazi to DM Bravo, 1 run, tucked away in front of square leg for another single

Sohag Gazi to DM Bravo, no run, backed away and cuts to point

38.6

Sohag Gazi to DM Bravo, 1 run, pushed through flatter on leg stump, Bravo punches down to long-on to retain strike on 99. Askes for a change of helmet, it would seem as the lights come on

39.3

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, 1 run, looped up, so much that it becomes a full toss and Ramdin strikes it down to long-off

39.4

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, 2 runs, jumps down the track, but realises it is too quick and flat to get under. Turned away through midwicket and they are quick enough to take a couple

"Can we restart this game ?" pleads Abir2

39.6

Ben: "Great to see both Ramdin and Darren Bravo making some big runs, especially the latter who has promised much for a long time. Disappointed not to see Marlon Samuels in the side his form in the CPL was brilliant and he brings a good bowling option too, anyone have any thoughts on this?"

40.1

Sohag Gazi to DM Bravo, no run, skips down and clips the length ball to short midwicket

40.2

Sohag Gazi to DM Bravo, SIX, hammered! This time he gets to the pitch as the bowler finally bowls one fuller. Full swing of the arms as Bravo sends it into orbit. That is the 15th six of the innings, the most West Indies have hit in an ODI

40.3

Sohag Gazi to DM Bravo, 1 run, pulls his length back and Bravo is content with a punch to long-off

40.4

Sohag Gazi to Ramdin, 1 run, drilled to long-on and now this partnership has become the best for the third wicket in all ODIs

40.5

Sohag Gazi to DM Bravo, no run, saw the batsman feigning to come down the track, Gazi fired it wide outside off, well past Bravo's reach so he directed his efforts to get back in his crease

41.2

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, 1 leg bye, fired in on the pads, Ramdin went for a slog sweep but he didn't have enough room

Chris: "@Ben: Marlon has been underperforming in Maroon for a while now. He couldn't buy a run in the last series. Glad to see competition for places in the Windies side now. for too long the same side failed over and over with to imputus to do better. "

41.3

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, no run, yorks himself as he dances down to a fuller, flatter ball. Think he also jammed his boot with the bat

41.4

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, SIX, that time he made sure there was enough distance between bat and ball to enable a powerful golf swing! Sails 101 metres over deep midwicket

41.5

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, 2 runs, looks like that's going to be the norm for Bravo, uses his feet to get to the pitch but he miscues a slog to deep square leg. Manages to make amends with his running though

41.6

Abdur Razzak to DM Bravo, 1 run, fired full on off stump, Bravo comes down and drills to long-off to bring up the highest partnership against Bangladesh for any wicket

End of over 42 (11 runs) West Indies 265/2 (RR: 6.30)

Kiru: "Good to see non some one other than Gayle and Pollard is entertaining.. good for WI cricket and good for the world of cricket "

42.1

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, 1 run, jumps down, but the ball is flatter and the length is shorter. So he adjusts into a cut behind point

42.2

Mahmudullah to Ramdin, 1 run, goes down the track and tickles a length ball through to long-on

42.3

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, 1 wide, flighted and pushed down leg, Bravo tries to use the pace and nudge it away fine, but can't

42.3

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, 2 runs, races down to confound the bowler, who offers up a big full toss. Goes off balance as he tries to cane it. The miscue lands well short of long-off

42.4

Mahmudullah to DM Bravo, OUT, slows it up as he sees the batsman advancing and that makes Bravo miscue, to point. He was running out of juice anyway, which was why he tried to hit everything out of the park. Terrific innings from Lil B

DM Bravo c Imrul Kayes b Mahmudullah 124 (159m 127b 7x4 8x6) SR: 97.63

whirlaway: "BD has to resolve to do one thing today. That no matter what, they will bat for the full 50 overs. It doesn't matter whether they lose by 100 runs or 200 runs. Batting out the 50 overs should be their goal for today." Al-Amin, their best bowler today, returns

43.1

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, 1 run, seeks the yorker just outside off, just misses the mark as Ramdin digs it out to long-off

43.2

Al-Amin Hossain to Pollard, FOUR, full toss, Pollard deals with it with disdain, flicking over square leg. Effortlessly done, even with the ball nearly over waist high. But he was standing well out of his crease

43.3

Al-Amin Hossain to Pollard, 2 runs, pushed full in at the pads, Pollard works it away through square leg

43.4

Al-Amin Hossain to Pollard, 1 run, that's fallen short of the keeper! Mushfiqur seems to have injured himself as well! This was a good length, ball, a slower one. Takes the outside edge and dies as the keeper dived forward. Gets a bad bounce and the ball strikes his left eyebrow and forehead. Medical personnel rush out to tend to him, but he seems to be okay. Grimacing aside

43.5

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, FOUR, change of pace again, but it's a touch too short. Ramdin was originally fooled and gets the pull off the toe. He was hitting with only one hand too, but it ends up a one-bounce four

43.6

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, SIX, away she goes! Clatters into the roof over long-on as he takes care of a length ball on middle and off. Cleared that front leg and gave it the old heave-ho

MaF: "Whirlaway I totally disagree , by betting 50 overs what is BD going to achieve ? They should be in it to win it . No point of seeking minority allowance or sympathy anymore . It's about time they pull their weights "

dylan: "I call him Ramdin 2.0. Well played!" Abdur Razzak has the unenviable task of pulling him back

44.1

Abdur Razzak to Pollard, 1 run, flat and fast on the stumps, Pollard just about manages to keep his stumps intact after backing away to cut. Might have skidded on and stayed a touch low

44.2

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, SIX, through the fingers of long-off as he was leaping up! This was flighted on off stump, Ramdin moved outside leg to hammer it flat and hard down the ground. The fielder jumps, but did it too early

44.3

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, FOUR, scythed through the covers. Same technique as he moves outside leg and drills a fuller ball from off stump to the cover boundary

44.4

Abdur Razzak to Ramdin, 1 run, flighted on middle and leg, nurdled away to long-on

44.5

Abdur Razzak to Pollard, OUT, holes out at long-on, but there are no celebrations, prompting a few people to doubt if the catch was taken. This was flighted on middle and leg, Pollard wound up for the big hit but didn't put enough muscled behind it.

45.6

46.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to Sammy, 1 run, goes the the wide yorker again and stymies Sammy who can only dab it through to point

47.1

Al-Amin Hossain to Sammy, no run, pitched up outside off with plenty of pace as Sammy is late on this one as he looks to smash this out of St Kitts

47.2

Al-Amin Hossain to Sammy, OUT, going for the wide yorker but gets his length slightly off as this is converted into a low full toss outside off, but luckily for Al-Amin, Sammy struggles to get this away as this ends up spooning high over to deep extra-cover, who is able to get under it to take a smart catch. West Indies looking to hit out in these final overs as Bangladesh seek desperately for a modicum of control on the scoring rate

The new West Indian batsman is the captain, Dwayne Bravo

47.3

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, 1 run, right in the blockhole this time as Ramdin is able to dig it out and scamper a single

Arvin: "Ramdin in the last couple years is not the Ramdin we know. This is a guy that could be a wicketkeeper on an icc world team the way he's been playing."

47.4

Al-Amin Hossain to DJ Bravo, 1 run, overpitched from Al-Amin but just outside off as Bravo helps this down to long on for a single

47.5

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, 1 run, slogs the slower delivery away but picks out Nasir Hossain at long on

47.6

Al-Amin Hossain to DJ Bravo, no run, slower ball outside off as Bravo looks to dab this down to short third man for a quick single but immediately sends back Ramdin as he hits this a bit too well to the fielder. Ramdin is able to make it back to his end before any trouble ensues.

48.2

Mashrafe Mortaza to DJ Bravo, 1 run, slower yorker on middle and leg as Bravo picks it well enough to help ease it down to midwicket

48.3

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, 2 runs, honing in on that blockhole as Ramdin gets nice and low to work this away down to long on, running the first one hard enough to make it two

kumail ally: "Is this the first time we have had two 300+ scores in two different matches on the same day (in reference to Australia's earlier effort)?"

48.4

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, SIX, when it is your day, it is your day, as Ramdin clears his front leg to just smash Mortaza over extra-cover for another massive six. His eye is too good at this point not to miss out on such filth. Mortaza unlucky to get his yorker wrong

48.5

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, 2 runs, another full delivery, but on the pads, as Ramdin flicks this one in front of square, running hard enough for the pair to complete two

48.6

Mashrafe Mortaza to Ramdin, 1 run, nice length ball on middle and leg which Ramdin is able to get under and cart over to deep midwicket to retain the strike for the next over

So we head into the final over with West Indies looking to get past 350, and Ramdin just 15 short of eclipising the ODI record for highest score by a wicketkeeper (183 by MS Dhoni v SL in 2005)

49.1

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, 1 run, that record attempt is looking a little less likely as he swats this length ball down to long on for a single

Ramdin has equalled Lara in terms of third-highest score by a West Indian in ODIs

49.2

Al-Amin Hossain to DJ Bravo, 1 run, punches this one down the ground to long off for a single

Ramdin on 169, can he get past Lara?

49.3

Al-Amin Hossain to Ramdin, OUT, and he is going to finish level with BC Lara on 169 as his blinder of an innings finally comes to an end as he looks to clear Al-Amin, who is looking for the blockhole once more, but just can't get enough on it to clear the fielder stationed just before the rope, as this one flies directly to him. Ramdin is kicking himself, but he has more than done his job today for his country. Has really set up West Indies beautifully here

D Ramdin c Nasir Hossain b Al-Amin Hossain 169 (187m 121b 8x4 11x6) SR: 139.66

49.4

Al-Amin Hossain to Holder, OUT, and his stay at the crease ends as quickly as it began as he pretty much follows Ramdin to the pavilion with a similar-looking shot that is picked up by the same, exact fielder, as the one Ramdin found before, and all of a sudden Al-Amin is now on a hat-trick with two balls left

JO Holder c Nasir Hossain b Al-Amin Hossain 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Will Bravo survive the hat-trick?

49.5

Al-Amin Hossain to DJ Bravo, no run, decides to go for the slower ball outside off but Bravo is just not able to get anything on it as the ball carries behind to the keeper

49.6

Al-Amin Hossain to DJ Bravo, no run, another peach of a slower ball, again outside off, as Bravo swings for the fences, but can't connect.

It has been well documented that Bangladesh have yet to win an ODI this year, and with a score like this one, that trend is looking to continue for a little while longer. Can Bangladesh pull it together and achieve this difficult total? We will find out shortly when we tune back in for the second innings. Don't go anywhere as we are in for what promises to be an exciting finish!

With that missed swat, the West Indies still manage to post an imposing 338 for 7, an innings tailored by two fine efforts from Darren Bravo (124) and Denesh Ramdin (169), who put on a massive third wicket partnership of 258, which coincidentally is the best-ever for any partnership by the West Indies. Al-Amin once again the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers as he managed to eke out four scalps, and he really was the only bowler who threatened to take any wickets today.

End of over 50 (2 runs) West Indies 338/7
