India in West Indies ODI Series - 2nd ODI

West Indies v India

India won by 7 wickets (with 20 balls remaining) (D/L method)

Lendl Simmons and Kirk Edwards have made their way out. Praveen Kumar to start things off for India. Two slips in place

Kaustubh: "Instead of rotating players just for the sake of doing it, Sammy should have dropped one of the openers, made Sarwan open the innings and hold fort at one end and played both Darren Bravo and Pollard to make sure they atleast put up a fight."

Richard Minott: " wonder if this so-called rotation policy will affect Sammy. What rubbish! Can someone tell me why Edwards is playing after that performance two days ago?"

Joy Bajaj responds: "No, I suggest to open with Dwayne Bravo (who can take the attack to Indian bowlers & give some momentum to WI) and Darren Bravo sticks to his no.3 spot. And, Pollard can fit in at no. 6 to accelerate towards the end."

Joy Bajaj: "Darren Bravo is one of their better batsmen. Sammy should have rather dropped Lendl Simmons who struggled to get going. Then they should have opened with Dwayne Bravo to get things going right from the start." You mean Darren right?

It's started drizzling in Port of Spain, so we could have a delayed start though lets not jump to conclusions. The covers are coming off, and the sun is out. Still another 17 minutes for the start.

Toss: India have decided to field. Suresh Raina thinks teams have generally done better chasing here. India have retained the same team. Sammy says he would have bowled first as well. Darren Bravo has been left out - part of the rotation policy - and Kieron Pollard takes his place.

Jeff Dujon reckons it's a spin-friendly track again. More trouble for West Indies?

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the second ODI between India and West Indies, it's being played in Port of Spain, the same venue as the first two games of this tour. India won that game quite comfortably in the end, with Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina helping them home in the chase. So, out with the precognitions for today. Ha! Six minutes to go for the toss. Stay put. In the meantime, check out Nitin Sundar's preview.

West Indies should have got much more than 240. They were set up for a strong total by Simmons and Sarwan, but the middle order imploded from the platform of 192 for 3. They lost four wickets for five runs and then it was down to Sammy to drag them this far. Amit Mishra bowled superbly on this surface, picking up four wickets. He turned the ball sharply, got bounce and mixed in his variations. Yusuf chipped in with valuable wickets as well and don't forget Munaf.

Having said that, India should not have it easy. The pitch is turning and West Indies have two legspinners in their team. Siddhartha Talya will bring you the chase shortly.
