New Zealand in West Indies ODI Series - 2nd ODI

West Indies v New Zealand

West Indies won by 55 runs

All set for the start, Gayle and Simmons will open

9.20 am Same pitch which was used for the first ODI, darkish appearance to it, the early morning moisture will be key, says Jeff Dujon on air

9 am New Zealand have won the toss and will have a bowl

Kane Williamson: "If anything is there in the pitch, it is there early on."

Darren Sammy: "The wicket seems to have a bit of moisture like it normally does in Jamaica. We have the openers to ride out the new ball, and we can always catch up later on."

Nathan McCullum and Tom Latham are in for New Zealand, in place of Andrew Ellis and Dean Brownlie. Ellis has not recovered from the leg injury he picked up while batting during the first ODI, and Brownlie has been left out. We understand Watling will continue to keep; Latham is playing as a specialist batsman then. He was the only batting option New Zealand have left in the squad

This could be New Zealand's chance. With the kind of batting line-up they have, short on confidence, restricting West Indies to a manageable total looks to be the way to go

Wests Indies are fielding an unchanged XI. So Johnson Charles and Tino Best miss out again

8.50 am Welcome to our coverage of the second ODI between West Indies and New Zealand, in Kingston. After three heavy defeats, in the Twenty20s and in the first ODI, and numerous injuries, New Zealand are wounded, mentally and physically. More in the preview

Brendon McCullum, who was initially rested for the limited-overs leg of this tour, is now expected to reach a day before the third ODI in St Kitts on July 11.

Just how do New Zealand stop this West Indies side? They batted first in the first ODI, they bowled first today, the result is the same at the innings break, West Indies are firmly in control. As if Gayle was not enough, New Zealand had Samuels to contend with as well.

Marlon Samuels: "Chris is in good form. I gave him the strike, once he got out, I took charge after that."

Chris Gayle: "315 is very defendable. I am happy for the milestone. I planned this for two years. I planned it against India but it did not happen.I am happy to eventually cross the milestone of my favourite batsman, Brian Lara at my home ground." (for most ODI centuries by a West Indies batsman)

Here is Mazher Arshad: "Its 8th time today that two West Indies batsmen scored centuries in an ODI innings. Last such incident was against England in 2006 Champions Trophy Match at Ahmedabad, Gayle was also centurion there along with Dwayne Bravo."
