Pakistan in West Indies ODI Series - 4th ODI

West Indies v Pakistan

Pakistan won by 6 wickets (with 6 balls remaining) (D/L method)

It's a 49-over match now, no change in Powerplays. The teams are in the middle. Johnson Charles and Devon Smith to start off. Mohammad Irfan is marking his run up

amad: "49 overs::now Misbah wont have to worry about giving last over to wahab"

10.00 am The sun is out now, we should get a start soon. The umpires are just checking the conditions. Roughly 15 minutes more to start.

Talha: "It does not matter rain is male or female but it is a great trouble in cricket matches."

Ray: "Rain is female in Urdu, but male in Pashto, Sindhi, and Punjabi."

Wayne: "Can someone answer why is cricket still scheduled in the hurricane season in the caribbean. And rain in its liquid form is feminine, it's frozen form is male."

'ice' borg: "Gayle at No.5? Well, he wont get to bat, this is any 'icy' prediction...."

Aamir: "@ice-borg: you mean he will get run-out without facing a ball? Well that's a "spicy" prediction."

Zeeshan: "If Gayle is playing at 5, so Narine will open the innings ?"

Dr. Asim Khan: "Rain is Him or Her? I find rain quite feminine :) Please don't change my opinion about the rain."

johar: "Why don't they ask Irfan to take care of the rain?- as u mentioned once"

Arsal Jalali: "Rain, why are u disturbing a very important match..? C'mon rain, go away..!" ---- Arsal, it's not a good idea to ask questions of Rain when you want him to stay quiet.

Salman: "Ian Bishop just tweeted, that Gayle will be batting at 5 today, oh boy it is going to be interesting!"

Farrukh: "Can someone tell Misbah to watch Innings from Sangakkara against SA? Perfect example of keeping wickets intact and then blasting through - unlike Misbah who throws his wicket away"

Mustafa Memon: "Somebody needs to tell Farrukh that Misbah knows well how to build an innings. If he is unaware of this then he should watch it here"

John: "@Farrukh. I think it's because of Misbah that Pakistans batting is able to put some decent totals. Yes, he takes more time but if you access he has no choice. Whenever he comes to bat Pakistan is like 20/3 or 50/5, it has been like this for the past couple of years. Don't blame the 'top run getter in 2013', just doesn't make any sense."

Osama: "@John: exactly the reason why I wonder he doesn't promote himself up the order.."

Karthik: "@Farrukh: WI pitch is not flat like Srilanka pitch in which Sanga blasted yesterday. What Misbah can do if there is nobody to stay with him till the end?"

9.40 am Covers still on, but hopefully we will get a restart soon..

Noman Baqai: "It seems to be the contest of who is more defensive in their approach towards batting as despite the fact that 2 matches are won by team batting first and even in the tie one the team batting first had upper hand till the very end, they keep on choosing to field first."

9.00 am It's not raining, but the covers are being brought in to cover the pitch. It's a pre-emptive strike from the groundstaff as they are expecting it to come down soon. Raining now.

We are minutes away from the start. I am waiting to see if Chris Gayle still comes to open..He has scores of 8, 1 and 1 in this series..

Marcus Mullings: "Why is Chris Gayle still opening the batting? If he is not dropped completely, he should be moved down the order."

SthAussie: "I think it's been confirmed he's batting 5, looks like the scoreboard workers have been informed as they were changing his name around (& yes I'm now avoiding watching the Ashes if you ask considering I'm an Aussie!)"

Uwaisul Karnain: "Talking about Ashes, Aussies will definitely welcome an innings from Misbah now"

8.30 am Batting first is not a good idea, says Jeff Dujon and that's exactly what Pakistan have taken heed of after winning the toss. They will bowl first. Pakistan are fielding the same XI. Bravo says he would have batted first anyway and he thinks 230-ish should be a good total. Devon Smith has been brought in for Kieron Pollard, who has been having a wretched season with the bat.

"Has Devon Smith recovered from Hafeezophobia," asks AmmarAshraf. Smith has faced 21 deliveries from Hafeez, has scored 9 runs, but has been dismissed four times by the bowler. He has also been dismissed by Hafeez twice in Tests, in two matches after facing only 12 balls.

suneel: "@Ammar ashraf, Smith's inclusion was inevitable because Pollard hasn't recovered from his zerophilia."

Khalid Yaqub: "Seems to be brave decision by Misbah to bowl first because these days any score of 150+ even on a dead flat pitch, creates doubts on Pakistan's batting line-up."

Sohail Khan has a better assessment of Pakistan's batting. "Pakistan top order play like children," he says

8.10 am Good morning and welcome to our coverage of the fourth ODI. Wasn't the last match exciting? Jason Holder hitting those last few runs.. Who would have guessed the No. 11 to score those after the abysmal form the top orders of both team had shown. That is likely to be a concern for this match as well. Then there was the case of that short run the umpire called incorrectly which in the end happened to be the difference for Pakistan, but Sidharth Monga did some digging and found that it was all as per the protocol.

Hasan Aziz: "Everyone seems to be going on about the short run given incorrectly by the umpire in last game and how that would have made a difference to the result. I think Pakistan fans should also thank Afridi for scoring 1, otherwise Pakistan would have lost."

In other news, for the first time in 86 years, someone has seen the pitch drop .. and shared it too, but it's not the University of Queensland group, it's the scientists from Dublin's Trinity College who have won the race. How exciting!

I say chaps, this is already a winning score. Marlon Samuels called upon the talents of real Marlon Samuels to revive West Indies after another mediocre start. West Indies have more than doubled their 30-over score and Chris Gayle, batting at No 5, Lendl Simmons and Sammy, all doing their bit to help Samuels out. But it was a powerpacked innings and would go a long way in erasing the memory of his last effort. Can Pakistan cope with the challenge? Monsieur Kanishkaa to take you through when we come back.

Reno: "What is it with Pakistan and conceding 14 runs off the last over?"

TAIMOOR AFZAL: "Given Pakistan's batting, this not a good score. It's a huge score!"

WebGuru: "Nice comeback by Samuels in first 3 matches scored 92 runs in 246, 4th match 106* in 104 balls"

Javed Miandad: "Marlon giving good lessons to Misbah on how to hold an innings together without letting the run rate dip too low... If Misbah is a good learner, he should also take a note on how to score a hundred"

Ali: "For the first time in this series i am actually looking forward to pakistan bat. With a challenging total like this the likes of nasir and shehzad will have to bat much more positively then before. Fingers crossed for a nice close game."

unselfish guy: "Can't believe no one has talked about the elephant in the room. How selfishly Samuels has played just to get to his 100. Singles refused, partners sacrificed..a disgrace."

End of over 49 (14 runs) West Indies 261/7
