Pakistan in West Indies T20I Series - 2nd T20I

West Indies v Pakistan

Pakistan won by 11 runs

Sammy had said he thought 140 was a good score on this pitch. Hafeez and Shehzad are Pakistan's openers. Darren Sammy is opening the bowling, from over the wicket. One slip in place. The keeper is standing up to the stumps.

Toss, 1.30 pm Mohammad Hafeez has won the toss and Pakistan will bat. He's doing that because he has four spinning options and wants them to have last use of a pitch that was played on yesterday.

Pakistan have brought in three players - Asad Ali, Sohail Tanvir and Haris Sohail. Asad Ali and Haris Sohail are making their debuts. Hafeez said Nasir Jamshed isn't playing, and neither are Mohammad Irfan and Junaid Khan.

West Indies have left out Shannon Gabriel and brought in Christopher Barnwell. Sammy also wished Sir Garry Sobers a happy birthday at the toss.

C Rampersaud: "Gayle is not a confident batsman and should not open the batting, should be half way in line or there are good players out there who should get a chance - he fall too many times for cheap and it is getting too tough to watch - thanks."

Sadiq Amin: "oh hafeez how can you drop M.Irfan, he did'nt perform only in one match and you dropped him. he should have been given chance."

Haider: "Dropping Junaid and Irfan isn't a bad idea considering how many runs they went for last games. I've never been a big fan of Tanvir but I think it'll pay dividends this game."

Waleed: "All those who are saying Irfan and Junaid shouldn't have been dropped- this is the ideal time to test new players. I never understand my countrymen, when the captain doesn't give a youngster a chance they all go mad and when he does they say he shouldn't have dropped X or Y."

1.10 pm Hello, welcome to ESPNcricinfo's ball-by-ball coverage of the final game of Pakistan's tour of the Caribbean and the last international game of West Indies' home season. Pakistan won the first T20 on Saturday and another victory today will give them two trophies to take home.

The weather is fair in Kingstown at the moment so let's hope we get an uninterrupted game. They are playing on the same pitch as yesterday. It's quite dry.

Our early bird emailer is Hammad Ahmed, who has an opinion on team strategy. "In the first T20I, pacers went for 145 in their 15 overs with the costly average [economy] of 9.67 and spinners went for 158 in their 25 overs with the economical average of 6.32. So in these types of pitches, equation is as simple as ABC. Use as many spinners as you can and avoid as many pacers as you can. Pakistan are playing with four spinners and three pacers (including Hammad Azam). They should drop atleat one pacer from junaid and irfan and replace with Haris Sohail to make strong their unpredictable batting lineup."

Tabish: "Zulfiqar Babar in his pre-match interview just named Daniel Vettori as his inspiration to bowl left-arm spin. Vettori's age: 34 years, 182 days. Babar's age: 34 years, 230 days."

JavedMgi: "Where is the ESPNcricinfo's preview of the 2nd and the last t20i between pakistan and the west indies?" I think the dog ate it. But honestly, the previous game was yesterday and there was almost no news to report in a preview.

Navin Mahadeo: "West Indies needs to drop either Gabriel or Best to accommodate Chris Barnwell who will be a better choice."

Ali: "My guess is that Pakistan should drop Irfan and let Tanvir play. It's not that I don't like Irfan but he was really expensive and also Tanvir hasn't played for Pakistan for awhile."

Kent Mceachrane: "Please Sammy, pick a better bowling team. Drop Gabriel .Let Gayle bat 3 down and Simmons open with Charles."

Sammy to Ahmed Shehzad, no run, good length outside off stump, played from the crease on the off side

0.2

Sammy to Ahmed Shehzad, FOUR, Shehzad's away, and how! Striding forward to a half-volley outside off and driving it fluently through covers

0.4

Sammy to Ahmed Shehzad, 1 run, short of a length and Shehzad drags it from outside off stump, pulling to deep midwicket

Cheema: "Badree couldn't bowl a ball right yesterday. Narine is waiting for IPL 2014 to deliver a match winning performance. Aren't these reasons good enough to give 'Devendra Bishoo' a chance. He has an economy rate of 6.59 in T20s and can bat better than both. With the way Narine is fielding on boundary off late, it seems he has taken his selection in the final XI for granted. May be the time has come to shake him off a bit."

0.5

Sammy to Mohammad Hafeez, 1 run, edged and dropped by the keeper standing up to the stumps! Hafeez prodded off the back foot at a good length ball outside off, it was a thick edge so a tough chance. But edges off the seamers will be tough to catch if you're standing up to the stumps

3.30 pm Pakistan have Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad to thank for this total. I'd say 135 is quite defendable on this pitch, if Pakistan's bowlers have a decent day. West Indies need to win to level the series and take a share of the silverware from this tour. I'll be back in ten minutes for the chase.
