Roach to Petersen, OUT, gone! Roach strikes! Not the best shot Petersen has played. Goes for the pull from outside outside off, and top-edges it towards square leg where Chanderpaul takes an easy catch

AN Petersen c Chanderpaul b Roach 1 (6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 16.66

South Africa 17/1   GC Smith 14* (9b 3x4)   KAJ Roach 1.1-0-4-1

Benn to Amla, OUT, what a loose shot! what a soft dismissal! Benn knows he has been lucky, and doesn't celebrate wildly. This is short, this is wide, we are looking at the point boundary, but he has hit it in the air, to backward point, Nash

HM Amla c Nash b Benn 5 (24b 0x4 0x6) SR: 20.83

South Africa 41/2   GC Smith 32* (33b 5x4)   SJ Benn 0.1-0-0-1

Bess to Harris, OUT, Bess and Gayle make me eat my words here! Maiden Test wicket for Bess! He has released pressure, and that means Harris is playing more shots, and plays at this back-of-a-length delivery well outside off, and the edge is safely taken by Gayle at first slip. High fives all around for Brandon

PL Harris c Gayle b Bess 11 (30b 2x4 0x6) SR: 36.66

South Africa 60/3   GC Smith 40* (62b 6x4)   BJ Bess 3-0-26-1

Benn to Smith, OUT, Benn gets his man! Extra bounce does it for him. He has worked hard for this one, Smith goes. Flighted outside off, in those foot marks, gets sharp turn and bounce, Smith who is looking to defend gets an inside edge onto the pad, and then a simple catch for forward short leg

GC Smith c Richards b Benn 70 (115b 9x4 0x6) SR: 60.86

South Africa 122/4   JH Kallis 26* (62b 3x4)   SJ Benn 6.5-1-15-2

Benn to Kallis, OUT, arm ball! and he misjudges the line, leaving this one alone, this pitches just outside off (he perhaps thought this would land wider, which his not covering the stumps suggests), and then goes in with the angle, hitting the top of off stump. Replays show that might not have been an arm ball, just coming in with the angle

JH Kallis b Benn 43 (86b 4x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

South Africa 145/5   AB de Villiers 6* (25b)   SJ Benn 11-3-21-3

Benn to de Villiers, OUT, short and wide, he goes for the cut, Benn's extra bounce gets a healthy edge, and Ramdin takes a nice catch, straightforward decision for Taufel

AB de Villiers c †Ramdin b Benn 73 (189b 6x4 0x6) SR: 38.62

South Africa 279/6   AG Prince 55* (159b 3x4)   SJ Benn 29.1-6-55-4

Bravo to Prince, OUT, Boucher is run out FInally. And Ramdin does his job this time. Mid-pitch collision! It was pushed towards left of mid-on. Prince jogged across. Boucher wasn't sure. Prince kept coming. Boucher took couple of steps down the track. Prince had his eyes all along at the ball. Boucher sees Prince and tries to cross the pitch and run that side of the turf. Mistake. Prince too takes the fatal turn at the same time. Clash! Boucher reels back and then its' too late. Everything depended on Ramdin who this time crouched to collect the throw on the bounce and break the stumps. Run out! Unlucky for Bouch who collided with Prince.

MV Boucher run out 17 (56b 2x4 0x6) SR: 30.35

South Africa 312/7   AG Prince 68* (222b 5x4)   DJ Bravo 25-11-42-0

Benn to Botha, OUT, Five-for for Benn! Dead plumb! It landed on the middle and leg and turned. Botha goes well back to defend and pushes inside the line. The ball turns past his poke and hits the back leg in front of middle. Very very easy decision for Taufel. Nice little moment for Benn

J Botha lbw b Benn 9 (26b 1x4 0x6) SR: 34.61

South Africa 326/8   AG Prince 71* (235b 5x4)   SJ Benn 42.3-11-74-5

Roach to Steyn, OUT, What a ball! What a strike! Steyn has no clue what happenned there. Meanwhile Steyn and Benn get into trouble but first lets get the dismissal. It landed on a length around off and middle and cut towards the off. It hit the back pad and fell on the off stumps. Now for that drama

DW Steyn b Roach 4 (10b 1x4 0x6) SR: 40.00

South Africa 333/9   AG Prince 74* (253b 5x4)   KAJ Roach 23.1-6-51-2

Benn to Morkel, OUT, Wicket no 6 for Benn. No one laughed derisively. No one spat. They all walk back quietly. It straightened just outside off and Morkel stabbed it to first slip. fine bowling performance from Benn. The light roller comes out.

M Morkel c Bravo b Benn 9 (12b 2x4 0x6) SR: 75.00
