Edwin Field was in the Clifton XI from 1888 to 1891 (captain 1890 and 1891) and in the Cambridge XI in 1894. Berkshire 1895. He played for Middlesex from 1904 to 1906, his best performance being 107 against Sussex at Lord's in 1895. A Cambridge Rugby Blue 1892-94, he played for England v. Wales and Ireland in 1893. Field was a solicitor.
