Robin Sims played a few games for Middlesex in 1992 and 1993 as a middle-order batsman but did not make an real impression. He turned out for the 2nd XI between 1987 and 1994 and was also on an MCC Young Cricketer. His moment of fame came in the 1989 Ashes Test when, fielding as a substitute, he caught Australia's captain Allan Border at long leg.
