Lendl Simmons smashed an unbeaten century to get Trinidad and Tobago's WICB Cup campaign off to a winning start against Leewards Islands at Bourda. Chasing a target of 220, Simmons scored 112 off 102 balls as T&T completed the nine-wicket victory in the 33rd over of a truncated 43-over match. Simmons hit ten fours and four sixes during the course of his innings and shared an opening partnership of 156 with Adrian Barath, the West Indies Under-19 opening batsman, who scored 76. Simmons was then joined by captain Daren Ganga and the pair completed the run-chase with ease. The platform for T&T's victory was built by their bowlers who dismissed Leewards for 219. All of Leewards' top six batsmen got into double figures but only Omari Banks went on to score a half-century. T&T's bowlers struck frequently and shared the wickets among them: Ravi Rampaul, Samuel Badree and Rayad Emrit took two each while Kieron Pollard picked up three.

Barbados secured their second win of the WICB Cup by beating the United States of America by 109 runs under the D-L method in a rain-affected match at the Guyana National Stadium. Barbados' top-order batsmen Ryan Hinds, Dale Richards and Dwayne Smith scored half-centuries to steer their side to 288 for 8 in 50 overs. Hinds, who top-scored with 84 off 62 balls, hit seven fours and two sixes, and added 134 for the second wicket with Richards. Orlando Baker, the medium-pacer, who was one of eight debutants for USA, picked up 4 for 46 in eight overs. USA's target was revised to 259 in 42 overs and they made a poor start, losing their first four wickets for 44 runs. Aditya Thyagarajan top-scored for them, adding 70 runs for the fifth wicket with Barrington Bartley, but the challenge proved beyond them. USA ended their innings on 149 for 9 but managed to deny Barbados bonus points. Barbados now lead the competition by eight points, although they have played an extra game.

Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) bounced back from Thursday's defeat and scored their first win of the WICB Cup by defeating Windward Islands by 70 runs at the Enmore Recreation Ground in Guyana. Romel Currency and Floyd Reifer, who made 70 and 62 respectively, steered CCC to a fighting total of 224 for 6 after they had decided to bat. Currency, who had scored his maiden century against Guyana on Thursday, faced 123 deliveries and hit four fours and a six. Reifer was more attacking and scored 62 off 57 balls. None of Windwards' batsmen - with the exception of Devon Smith who scored 42 - got going and a steady fall of wickets denied them the momentum. CCC opened the bowling with left-arm spinner Kavesh Kantasingh, who shared six wickets with fellow left-armer Anderson Sealy, to dismiss Windwards for 154 in the 47th over.
