Second One-day International

†INDIA v PAKISTAN 1983-84

At Jaipur, October 2. India won by four wickets. Although India won with 32 balls to spare, there was a grim struggle as Yashpal and Binny scored their last 35 runs. India had seemed to be heading for a more comfortable victory after Patil had made a rumbustious 51 off only 28 balls. Except for him, however, and to a lesser extent Zaheer, no batsman on either side found strokes easy to play on a slow pitch. Pakistan, who were put in, must have been disappointed not to have scored more than 166 after Mudassar and Mohsin had given them a good start.

Man of the Match: S. M. Patil
