At Brisbane, January 14. West Indies won by five wickets. West Indies redeemed themselves after their loss to Pakistan in Melbourne by clearly outplaying them. Pakistan's 174 for nine was a relatively poor score on the smallish Brisbane ground. Only Mudassar withstood the West Indian pacemen. West Indies won with almost ten overs to spare, Haynes again providing his team with a substantial start.
