At Berbice, Guyana, April 14. West Indies won by 130 runs. Haynes led West Indies to a commanding total with his seventh century in one-day internationals, hitting sixteen 4s and sharing partnerships of 125 for the third wicket with Richards and 80 from ten overs in 36 minutes with Logie. The accuracy of West Indies' bowling was evidenced by the fact that the first seven New Zealand batsman were bowled, leaving the total 75 for seven, only Cairns with 33 from 27 deliveries, including three huge 6s off Harper, avoiding a complete anticlimax.
