†AUSTRALIA v WEST INDIES 1984-85

At Adelaide, January 27. West Indies won by six wickets. Wood was both the hero and the villain of Australia's inadequate total. Carrying his bat for 104 from 142 deliveries, Australia having been asked to bat, he was involved in all three run-outs and was clearly at fault in that of Phillips, who was hitting the ball well when their stand of 82 was ended. West Indies, aided once more by poor catching which gave chances to Greenidge at 9 and 31, Richards at 17 and 19, and Lloyd at 1, won with 6.2 overs to spare.

Man of the Match: J. Garner. Attendance: 30,728.
