At Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo, March 11. Pakistan won by eight wickets. Put in to bat, Sri Lanka were saved by Ranatunga, whose 74 not out, off 89 balls, included a 6 off Qadir and four 4s. Rain interrupted Pakistan's reply in the fourteenth over (45 for no wicket), and when play resumed 90 minutes later in bright sunshine they required a further 57 runs off 10.1 overs, their target having been amended to 102 off 24 overs. This they achieved with an over to spare.
