At Multan, November 17. West Indies won by 89 runs. Both teams agreed beforehand to limit the match to 45 overs each, but Pakistan, winning the toss and fielding, bowled only 44 overs. Miandad and Imran led Pakistan's recovery from 30 for four with 64 in fourteen overs, but Gray's second spell of four for 16 in four overs was decisive.
