PAKISTAN v NEW ZEALAND 1990-91

At Sialkot, November 6. Pakistan won by 105 runs. Toss: New Zealand. Crowe's decision to put Pakistan in backfired when Saeed Anwar and Ramiz Raja again tucked into the New Zealand bowlers, putting on 78 before Saeed was out in the eighteenth over. In the next 22 overs Ramiz and Salim Malik added 139, Ramiz's 114, his fifth one-day century, being hit with fourteen fours in 123 balls. Malik's unbeaten 65 came from 68 balls. New Zealand's openers raced to 36 in seven overs, but both went in quick succession and Greatbatch was unlucky to be caught at the wicket off his pads. Waqar Younis proved too much for the later batsmen, and his five wickets in six overs gave him a haul of 40 wickets against the tourists in the Tests and one-day games.

Man of the Match: Ramiz Raja.
