Wisden
Seventh One-Day International

New Zealand v South Africa 1998-1999

At Wellington, March 30. No result. Toss: South Africa.

In a sad and damp end to the one-day series, the Wellington weather - combined with poor covering - prevented a result. South Africa had reached 249 for four, with all the batsmen scoring well, when the rains came. The match was rearranged for the following day but, although the sun shone and the pitch was playable, the bowlers' run-ups were too soft, and the game was abandoned. South Africa took the series 3-2.

Man of the Match: G. R. Larsen.
