Second One-Day International

West Indies v Australia 1998-1999

At St George's, April 14. Australia won by 46 runs. Toss: Australia.

International cricket returned to Grenada, which had staged a single one-day game with India in 1982-83. The match was the first of any significance at the new stadium at Queen's Park. It was dominated by a stand of 172 in 24 overs, an Australian fifth-wicket record, between Lehmann and Bevan. Lehmann hit 110 in 92 balls as they pushed past Australia's previous best total against West Indies, 286 at Georgetown four years earlier. Lara went cheaply again and, though Campbell and Adams put together 84, once Warne broke through there was too much ground for the later batsmen to make up.

Man of the Match: D. S. Lehmann.
