At Lahore, December 31. India won on a faster scoring rate (7.14 runs per over to 6.48) after bad light had stopped play, India having scored 193 for four in 27 overs in reply to Pakistan's 252 for three in 33. The result was calculated on Pakistan's score (175 for two) after 27 overs. The number of overs had already been reduced by seven after the start had been delayed by 45 minutes. Imran won the toss, whereupon Zaheer (one 6 and seven 4s) scored his fifth century in one-day internationals and Miandad (one 6 and eight 4s) made a hurricane 119.
