Second Test Match

India v Pakistan 1952-53

With Harare, Adhikare and Mankad unable to appear, India were as unconvincing as Pakistan had been in the previous Test. They were dismissed in three hours twenty-five minutes, and Pakistan required only fifteen minutes of the fourth day to complete their success, which was mainly due to the medium-pace bowling of Fazal Mahmood and Mahmood Hussain. On a jute-matting pitch they perplexed all except Amaranth, the India captain. He gave an admirable performance in the second innings after being dropped by Zulfiqar Ahmed at square-leg when six. Fazal Mahmood's splendid bowling earned him a match analysis of twelve wicket for 92. Nazar Mohammed took the batting honours for Pakistan. He carried his bat after a painstaking display that lasted eight hours thirty-five minutes.
