Pakistan v Bangladesh

At Dhaka, January 25 (day/night). Pakistan won by eight wickets. Toss: Bangladesh.

The whitewash was not in much doubt after Shahid Afridi blew the Bangladesh attack away with a whirlwind 83 from 44 balls. He walloped seven sixes and six fours, and was especially harsh on the left-arm spin of Enamul Haque, whose first over he hit for 28 (666064). When Afridi fell in the 11th, aiming to drive over cover, Naved Latif had contributed nine to their stand of 97. The pace slowed a little, but Pakistan still won with 13.3 overs to spare (they had been docked one for a slow over-rate). Earlier, Afridi had taken two wickets with his skiddy leg-breaks as Bangladesh compiled 220, their highest of the series. The real damage, however, was wreaked by Abdul Razzaq, who took a one-day best six for 35 as Bangladesh plummeted from an ostensibly healthy 176 for three after 42 overs.

Man of the Match: Shahid Afridi.
Man of the Series: Abdul Razzaq.
