First One-Day International

Bangladesh v India

At Dhaka, April 11, 2003 (day/night). India won by 200 runs. India 6 pts. Toss: India. One-day international debuts: G. Gambhir, A. M. Salvi.

A 200-run win was India's biggest, though not their best, while 76 all out was Bangladesh's lowest total but not their lowest hour. After humiliation at the World Cup, Bangladesh at least posed some questions for the Indian middle order, reducing them to 172 for six. However, Yuvraj Singh again dug his side out of a hole by thumping 92 in ten overs with Agarkar, and reaching a muscular hundred, his first in one-day internationals, after 12 fifties. Bangladesh's response was less reply, more whimper. Even in home conditions their lack of confidence was striking.

Man of the Match: Yuvraj Singh.
