At Perth, February 3, 2004 (day/night). India won by four wickets. India 6 pts. Toss: Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe finished the tournament with another heavy defeat - and without a win in seven completed games. Even so, in a low-voltage match, India's stumbling efforts inspired little confidence ahead of the finals. Pathan, at least, bowled beautifully, grabbing four wickets and confirming that he was India's find of the tour. Zimbabwe found his pace and bounce as testing as India had found Brett Lee's, and could put up only a modest target. However, India lost half the side for 105, and it was left to Badani, playing a sensible, unhurried innings, to see them home.
Man of the Match: I. K. Pathan. Attendance: 4,053.
