ESPNcricinfo staff

Man of the Match: G. B. Brent.
One-day international debuts: T. Maruma; G. H. Bodi.

Zimbabwe slipped from 68-2 to 72-7, with Vernon Philander (8-2-15-2) dismissing Sean Williams and Stuart Matsikenyeri with successive balls. But the innings was rescued by Chigumbura and Brent, who put on 115 for the eighth wicket. When South Africa batted, Loots Bosman fell in the first over, and the Zimbabwean bowlers and fielders kept it tight. But the target was reached with something to spare, Gulam Bodi making 51 in 99 balls on his debut.
