At Harare, August 12, 2011. First one-day international: Zimbabwe won by four wickets. Bangladesh 184 (48.4 overs) (Shakib Al Hasan 53, Mushfiqur Rahim 59; B. V. Vitori 5-30); Zimbabwe 186-6 (41.2 overs) (V. Sibanda 96, H. Masakadza 41; Rubel Hossain 4-26). MoM: B. V. Vitori. One-day international debut: B. V. Vitori.
Vitori was outstanding, swinging the new ball both ways at pace to claim the first four wickets in 24 deliveries. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim added a patient 105 for the sixth wicket, but Vitori collected another at the death to finish with 5-30, the best on debut by a Zimbabwean and the best by any debutant since Fidel Edwards of West Indies took 6-22, also at Harare, in 2003-04. Sibanda, using his feet to the spinners and happy to hit over the top, then cast aside years of underachievement with a stylish 96, and victory came with more than eight overs to spare.
