3rd ODI

Zimbabwe v Bangladesh, 2011

At Harare, August 16, 2011. Third one-day international: Zimbabwe won by five runs. Zimbabwe 250-7 (50 overs) (H. Masakadza 74, T. Taibu 83, E. Chigumbura 31); Bangladesh 245 (49.2 overs) (Tamim Iqbal 44, Mushfiqur Rahim 101, Shuvagata Hom 32; P. Utseya 3-47). MoM: Mushfiqur Rahim. One-day international debut: Shuvagata Hom.

Bangladesh should have won an entertaining contest, but fell apart with 22 needed from 19 balls and five wickets in hand. A combination of batting panic and full, straight fast bowling from Mpofu and Jarvis left Mushfiqur Rahim, who batted beautifully, in the company of last man Nazmul Hossain with eight needed off the final over, bowled by Mpofu. Mushfiqur scrambled a couple to reach a well-deserved maiden one-day international century, but hoisted the second ball to long-on, giving Zimbabwe a series-clinching 3-0 lead. Earlier, a third-wicket stand of 142 between Masakadza and Taibu was workman like rather than flashy, but then came Chigumbura's 21-ball 31,which would prove crucial.
