Neil Johnson to play for Western Province

Mr Arthur Turner Chief Executive Officer of Western Province Cricket Association today confirmed that WP Cricket Ass and Neil Johnson had come to terms for him to play for WP next season. Turner said that Neil Johnson suited the required profile for the WP Cricket Team as he brought balance to the team as an all rounder for One Day Domestic Cricket as well as for First Class Cricket. Turner said that he would add an exciting dimension to WP Cricket Team for One Day Domestic Cricket and ensure that the crowds would return to Newlands Cricket Ground to support the local team after last seasons disappointments. He also expected Neil Johnson to play a pivotal role in Supersport Series as an all rounder.

Finally he added the experience that Neil Johnson had gained playing International Cricket and especially having played in the 1999 World Cup would certainly rub off on the Provinces young squad. Ends from Mr Turner.
