Yorkshire-born offspinner Peter Shenton only played eight first-class matches, seven of them for Kent in 1960, but they included the amazing match against Worcestershire at Tunbridge Wells in 1960 which was completed inside a day (Kent 187, Worcestershire 25 and 61). Shenton's contribution was 7 not out and 2 for 12 in the second innings. As at September 2005 this was the last match to be finished in one day in English first-class cricket.
