A highly-rated allrounder who combines right-hand batting with right-arm fast-medium bowling, Tim Armstrong was selected in Australia's squad for the Under-19 World Cup in 2010 and was Australia's leading run-scorer with 240. He also played four of the five games in the Under-19 series against Sri Lanka in October 2009. During the 2010 off-season he was handed a rookie contract with New South Wales.
