Brad Thomas is a very dependable all-rounder from the University club who has long been a leading player in Hobart grade competition. Well built but of little more than average height, Thomas is a fine right arm pace bowler and an equally adept right handed batsman. At the bowling crease, he has a high leading arm and a slightly open-chested mode of delivery which allows him to move the ball away, predominantly, from right handed batsmen. With the bat, he is a technically correct player who tends to begin his innings slowly but who does not take long to play his shots with assurance, especially through the off side. Thomas has been a member of Tasmanian Second XI sides in the recent past and his general consistency, not to mention his reliability under pressure, ensures that he can not be too far away from attaining a senior state debut.
