Bangladesh tour of West Indies, 1st ODI: West Indies v Bangladesh at Roseau, Jul 26, 2009
Bangladesh won by 52 runs
26 July 2009 (50-over match)

Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the 1st ODI between Bangladesh and West Indies.

The ground was hit by early morning showers but nothing to worry, the cloud cover has cleared since then and play will start on time.

The strike has ended, is what we hear but the West Indies board has decided to continue with a second string squad and that gives Bangladesh the upper hand more

Richard LeTang, the head curator at Windsor Park has promised pace and bounce, lets wait and see...

Toss - Floyd Reifer has won the toss and he has elected to field first.

West Indies eleven - FL Reifer*, DM Richards, ADS Fletcher†, DS Smith, TM Dowlin, DE Bernard, RN Lewis, DJG Sammy, NO Miller, KAJ Roach, NT Pascal

Bangladesh eleven - Tamim Iqbal, Junaid Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Raqibul Hasan, Shakib Al Hasan*, Mushfiqur Rahim†, Mahmudullah, Rubel Hossain, Abdur Razzak, Naeem Islam, Syed Rasel

The pitch was under the cover for longer than usual due to showers over the last two days and today morning. There is bit of moisture on the surface and batting will be touch difficult during the first hour of play, that should explain Reifer's decision to bowl first.

Shakib Al Hasan, at the toss indicated that he would have anyway elected to bat first had he won the toss.

There is a scattering of spectators but a very poor turn out considering the fact that this is the first international match at this ground.

Tamim Iqbal to take strike and it will be Roach to start proceedings.

0.1

Roach to Tamim Iqbal, OUT, and Roach strikes first ball! fuller length delivery outside the off stump, pitched closed to the off stump line and Tamim has a go at it, ball clips the outside edge and goes straight to the keeper. Now that's a start!
