A slip and a short cover

7.1

Tonge to Tamim Iqbal, 1 run, missed run out, short of a good length on the off, moves back and punches it hard past cover, or so we think as it's not timed well, was struggling to make it to the other end and a direct hit would have had him

8.4

Sammy to Junaid Siddique, no run, short on middle and off, is watchful this time, pushing it off the back foot to mid-off

Feels his left hamstring just after he delivers, hope it's nothing serious. He's stretching, getting a few exercises bowling and is in some pain. He's taking his time. Gets down again, and he won't be able to complete it. Or so it seems, he's decided to continue. Brave lad.

24.1

Tonge to Mohammad Ashraful, 1 run, delicately done, short and wide, waits for it, hangs his bat out at the last moment for a single to third man

The players are coming out now. No overs have been lost because of this delay. Wasn't long enough.

Game should resume in five minutes time. We don't know anything about the modifications, if any, yet.

The stumps are being put up. Because we've lost some time, we may lose a couple of overs but nothing's confirmed yet. We'll get you the news as soon as we have it. The rain is no more, so that's good.

3.34pm local time: The rain has stopped completely. The umpires are on their way out to have a look. We should have a game soon, hopefully. The covers are coming off now. Just a momentary threat this.

The rain's gotten heavier and the covers are brought on. The players sprint off the field. It's certainly not overcast, plenty of sunshine around but it's coming down hard. We are in for a delay. The crowd have run in for shelter, and the bigger covers are being drawn in.

End of over 40 (5 runs) Bangladesh 204/4 (71 runs required from 60 balls, RR: 5.10, RRR: 7.10)

    • Shakib Al Hasan 47 (49b 2x4)
    • Mushfiqur Rahim 4 (10b)
    • GC Tonge 8-0-36-0
    • RN Lewis 9-0-45-1

Bangladesh have the batting powerplay left. They haven't taken in

40.1

Lewis to Shakib Al Hasan, 3 runs, chaos, utter chaos! Tossed it up just outside off, came down the track and tried to clear long-off, miscued it completely and landed bang in between Sammy running back from extra cover and Bernard running in from long-off, they collide and are both down, Shakib gets to his fifty as they run three, and they haven't got up yet

Big opportunity that. One of the basics of catching is to call for it if there is more than one person interested, and there appeared to be no calling in that instance. Both have collided as a result, missing the catch in the process and have risked injuring themselves. They are getting the necessary attention from the physio. Sammy is fine, he's got up, but Bernard is still down. All's well now. We start again.

40.2

Lewis to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, waited for it to turn from middle towards off and pushed it short of midwicket for a single

Lewis to Shakib Al Hasan, 1 wide, down the leg side this time, pitched outside leg and turned down further, called a wide

Lewis to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, short and wide, cracked down towards deep cover for a single

40.6

Lewis to Shakib Al Hasan, 1 run, fullish outside off, pushed it through the line towards long-off for a single

End of over 41 (8 runs) Bangladesh 212/4 (63 runs required from 54 balls, RR: 5.17, RRR: 7.00)

    • Shakib Al Hasan 52 (52b 2x4)

Bernard to bowl now

41.1

Bernard to Shakib Al Hasan, 1 wide, starts with a wide, too wide, Shakib promptly lets it go and wins a run

41.1

Bernard to Shakib Al Hasan, 2 runs, fullish on middle and leg, turned away through square leg for a single and the fielder in the deep fumbles, though they looked good to come back for the second anyway

41.2

Bernard to Shakib Al Hasan, 1 run, bowled on a length outside off, driven through the line to long-off for a single

41.3

Bernard to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, short of a good length on middle, turned away to deep square leg for a single

41.4

Bernard to Shakib Al Hasan, 1 run, full toss, a low one on leg stump, driven to Sammy at midwicket who backs out of the throw as his hamstring stings him again

41.5

Bernard to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, slightly short outside off, nudged it behind point for an easy single, much better from Mushfiqur after that nervy start

41.6

Bernard to Shakib Al Hasan, no run, full outside off, doesn't get hold of an attempted swing through midwicket, calls for a single but the bowler recovers well to prevent it

End of over 42 (7 runs) Bangladesh 219/4 (56 runs required from 48 balls, RR: 5.21, RRR: 7.00)

    • Shakib Al Hasan 56 (56b 2x4)
    • Mushfiqur Rahim 8 (15b)
    • DE Bernard 9-0-54-2
    • RN Lewis 10-0-53-1

56 needed off 48. The Powerplay has been taken. Bangladesh clearly have the edge at this point. They got 43 in the final powerplay yesterday. Roach will bowl. Sammy has two overs left, but can he bowl?

42.1

Roach to Mushfiqur Rahim, FOUR, four, sensed a chance with a ball that was pitched up outside off, moved away and swung it over midwicket for a boundary

42.2

Roach to Mushfiqur Rahim, FOUR, four more, they are getting closer, full toss outside off, slashes hard, gets a thick edge well wide of the keeper to the third-man boundary

42.3

Roach to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, fullish outside off, goes at it hard, square-drives it to point and Sammy fumbles to allow them a quick single, returns a wayward throw as well but no more damage done

42.4

Roach to Shakib Al Hasan, 2 runs, Shakib swings hard this time, full on the pads, clipped over square leg, Reifer gives chase and drags it just back in, throws a wide return to Roach and Shakib is way down the pitch calling for the third, by the time hurls it back to the keeper the Bangladesh captain has made it in time

42.5

Roach to Shakib Al Hasan, no run, full on middle and leg, pushed back to the bowler

42.6

Roach to Shakib Al Hasan, (no ball) SIX, Six, and he's off the attack for that was above waist height! Slipped out of his fingers, chest high full toss outside leg stump and Shakib dismisses it, moving across, to the fine-leg boundary, seven runs in all given that was a no-ball, what a costly over. He's off the attack because he's bowled two full tosses above waist height, you are only allowed one slip up.

18 off the over already. Devon Thomas will take off his keeping gloves and pads, and will bowl. Andre Fletcher will keep. He bowls medium-fast

42.6

Thomas to Shakib Al Hasan, 1 run, round the wicket and bowls it on a length just on middle and off, pushed down wide of mid-on for a single to keep the strike

The end of what could probably be the decisive over.

End of over 43 (19 runs) Bangladesh 238/4 (37 runs required from 42 balls, RR: 5.53, RRR: 5.28)

    • Shakib Al Hasan 65 (60b 2x4 1x6)
    • Mushfiqur Rahim 17 (18b 2x4)
    • DC Thomas 0.1-0-1-0
    • DE Bernard 9-0-54-2

Sammy, with an injured hamstring, will bowl

43.1

Sammy to Shakib Al Hasan, OUT, he's struck! Is there another twist to this tale? Full and wide, swings hard across the line, gets a thick edge and Dale Richards at short third man takes a good low catch just inches off the ground, big wicket!

Shakib Al Hasan c Richards b Sammy 65 (86m 61b 2x4 1x6) SR: 106.55

37 needed off 41 now, with five wickets in hand it's the batting team still with the advantage. Mahmudullah proved he has talent with the bat, scoring 42 in the previous game. But Shakib goes, after yet another captain's innings.

43.2

Sammy to Mahmudullah, 1 leg bye, angling it in on the pads, tries to turn it pan, clipped his pads on the way just wide of short fine, they take a quick single

43.3

Sammy to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 wide, wide, though it came back in, but too lat, it had passed the batsman

43.3

Sammy to Mushfiqur Rahim, no run, short on middle and leg, hit high on the pads and he tries to scramble down thepitch but the bowler recovers well to keep him put

43.4

Sammy to Mushfiqur Rahim, 2 runs, full outside off, swung away over square leg for a couple of runs

43.5

Sammy to Mushfiqur Rahim, no run, in the blockhole outside off, dug out back to the bowler

43.6

Sammy to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, length ball well wide of off, Mushfiqur drags it down to long-on for a single, we are set for a tight finish now with Shakib gone, what a crucial blow

End of over 44 (5 runs) Bangladesh 243/5 (32 runs required from 36 balls, RR: 5.52, RRR: 5.33)

    • Mushfiqur Rahim 20 (22b 2x4)
    • Mahmudullah 0 (1b)
    • DJG Sammy 9-0-35-1
    • DC Thomas 0.1-0-1-0

Tonge comes into the attack. 32 needed off 36.

44.1

Tonge to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 wide, down the leg side, hurled short, a wide at a crucial time, a run gifted, you cannot afford to do that at this stage of the innings

44.1

Tonge to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, short outside off, pulled just wide of midwicket for a quick single, dives full length to make it back

44.2

Tonge to Mahmudullah, 1 run, angling it on the pads, flicked away just wide of square leg for a single

44.3

Tonge to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, swung across the line and some good fielding from Kieran Powell, the substitute fielder at square leg, saves a few runs, keeps them down to a single as he dives full length to his right

44.4

Tonge to Mahmudullah, 1 wide, poor bowling, down the leg side, another wide, which side is choking here? Bangladesh are slowing down, but West Indies are gifting them with runs off extras

44.4

Tonge to Mahmudullah, 1 run, yorker length on leg stump, dug out in front of midwicket for another quick single, they haven't scored too many direct hits have West Indies

44.5

Tonge to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 run, full on the pads, flicked away stylishly but Devon Smith fields well stretching to his left at short fine leg to keep them down to a single

44.6

Tonge to Mahmudullah, 1 run, on target, finally, bowled on a good length on middle, pushed past the bowler for a single in the direction of long-on

End of over 45 (8 runs) Bangladesh 251/5 (24 runs required from 30 balls, RR: 5.57, RRR: 4.80)

    • Mahmudullah 3 (4b)
    • Mushfiqur Rahim 23 (25b 2x4)
    • GC Tonge 9-0-44-0
    • DJG Sammy 9-0-35-1

24 needed off 5 overs. Thomas will continue.

45.1

Thomas to Mahmudullah, OUT, he's struck off his second ball in ODIs! Bowled full on middle and off, tried to shuffle across and glance it fine, it caught the top edge and Nikita Miller took a well-judged catch running to his left

Mahmudullah c sub (NO Miller) b Thomas 3 (4m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 60.00

Who thought the wicketkeeper would turn a golden arm? Naeem Islam walks in, he's in the side as an allrounder.

45.2

Thomas to Mushfiqur Rahim, no run, low full toss outside off, stroked straight to cover

45.3

Thomas to Mushfiqur Rahim, FOUR, strays on his pads and he takes advantage, flicking it away behind square to beat fine leg to the boundary, that should ease the nerves a little, a gift ball but you've got to dismiss them

Fine leg is brought up

45.4

Thomas to Mushfiqur Rahim, FOUR, Four more! Wide of the crease and angling it straight into his pads, Mushfiqur repeats the shot with a bit more elevation this time to beat deep square leg to the ropes, you can't stick to that line with the fine leg brought up

45.5

Thomas to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 wide, follows that up with a wide, too wide and another run gifted, undermining that wicket off the first ball of the over

45.5

Thomas to Mushfiqur Rahim, 1 wide, another one, Mushfiqur shoulders arms and the umpire stretches his, way wide of the off stump, this is poor stuff

45.5

Thomas to Mushfiqur Rahim, no run, forces it quick, draws him into the drive and he is beaten

45.6

Thomas to Mushfiqur Rahim, OUT, Another twist! Poor cricket all around, except the catch, juicy full toss outside off and Mushfiqur plays a powerful drive but fails to keep it down, smashing it straight to Sammy who takes it over his head, timing his jump perfectly, to make things even more interesting

Mushfiqur Rahim c Sammy b Thomas 31 (58m 30b 4x4 0x6) SR: 103.33

14 to win with three wickets, and Razzak comes in. Thomas has struck twice. Roach being taken off the attack has proved a blessing in disguise

End of over 46 (10 runs) Bangladesh 261/7 (14 runs required from 24 balls, RR: 5.67, RRR: 3.50)

    • Naeem Islam 0 (0b)
    • DC Thomas 1.1-0-11-2
    • GC Tonge 9-0-44-0
46.1

Tonge to Naeem Islam, 1 leg bye, landing on a good length on leg stump, pushed off the back foot behind square for a single, was actually struck on his thighs as he shuffled across

46.3

Tonge to Abdur Razzak, 1 run, short of a good length outside off, turned his bat to guide that down to third man for a single

46.4

Tonge to Naeem Islam, no run, fullish on the off stump, got across and played with the bat really close to the pads, defending it on the leg side

10 needed off 20 can be easy, but as the commentators on TV rightly noted, Bangladesh have done their best to get into a tricky position at the death.

46.5

Tonge to Naeem Islam, 1 run, pushed into the off side towards point and they make it through for for a quick single

46.6

Tonge to Abdur Razzak, 1 run, overpitched outside off, driven towards mid-off for a single to keep the strike

Sammy comes back into the attack. Remember he got rid of the dangerous Shakib

47.1

Sammy to Abdur Razzak, no run, dropped, short outside off, slapped hard just wide of Sammy who stretches well to his left but fails to latch on, tough chance on the follow through

47.2

47.6

Sammy to Naeem Islam, 1 run, Pushed away into the off side wide of cover for a single, waited for it and just nudged it past the fielder to keep the strike

    • Naeem Islam 2 (5b)

48.4

Bernard to Abdur Razzak, no run, full and wide, smashed it into the ground towards mid-off, struck firmly but found the fielder

48.5

Bernard to Abdur Razzak, no run, the nerves build as he tries to slap that over the bowler's head, short outside off and he makes no contact

48.6

Bernard to Abdur Razzak, FOUR, the freakish end to the game typifies the innings, short and wide, swings across the line, gets a thick edge over short third man for a boundary, Bangladesh win the series

Bangladesh celebrate their 200th ODI with a historic series win over West Indies, their first against a current Test playing nation. A funny game in the end as Shakib's half-century and his stand with Mushfiqur appeared to have sealed it for his team. 18 came off the first over of the batting powerplay by Roach, but Shakib fell the next over to Sammy. Mahmudullah panicked, and Mushfiqur failed to clear cover and it seemed that despite the poor bowling at the end, gifting extras, length balls and overthrows, West Indies could still level the series. However, Razzak and Naeem saw through some nervous moments to see their team home and the jubilation at their achievement was obvious as the players charged into the field from their dressing room to grab the stumps.

Details from the presentation now.

Reifer: "We had a good score, Dowlin played really well today. We came in with five bowlers and that was a risk and it was unfortunate Roach bowled those two full tosses and Sammy injured his hamstring as well. I need to spend some time in the middle, got a long hop straight to point which was disappointing. We've been bowling well throughout the series, it's a young team and the guys have to be patient and play some tough cricket."

Always makes it a point to thank the fans does Reifer, which is great.

Shakib: "I can't explain the feeling. The boys have tried their best and we did well. The batting powerplays are very crucial and you have to take them at the right time, and take it seriously. They batted well, handled the spinners well. The team has been supporting be throughout the series and so have the support staff."

Shakib is also the Man of the Match. Another superb all-round effort, helping Bangladesh achieve their highest run-chase in the ODIs.

That's all we have from here, folks. Thanks for tuning in, and do join us again for the third ODI on the 31st. Until then, it's goodbye from all of us here at Cricinfo. Adios!
