The ground was hit by heavy overnight rain and downpours this morning but remarkably enough the ground seems to be drying up lot faster than expected. It's still very overcast but the weather is clearing up and the news from the middle is that start will be delayed by an hour. Next inspection is set for 9.30 am local time (1430GMT). It will be nothing less than a miracle if we get a start here today considering the amount of rain that hit the ground in the past 24 hours. Till half-an-hour ago this match was deemed as a wash-out, but it looks like everyone under-estimated the drainage facility at this newly built stadium! We will keep you updated as things move along. If the weather stays dry, play might start as early as 10.30 or 11am. local time (1530 GMT). The sun's come out and the chances of the game starting soon looks good. The players are warming up and the groundstaff are doing their bit to get the game started as soon as possible. West Indies must surely be happy with this total, a look back at the last 7 games played at Kingston will suggest that teams have not fared well when they are set targets in excess of 250.

Having said that, India have won only four out of the 15 matches they played against West Indies in West Indies but interestingly, all of them, have come in shortened matches! And this happens to be a shortened game too!
