A middle-order batsman and right-arm seamer, Brian Pfaff played in all six matches when Western Province won the Currie Cup in 1952-53 after a 21 year gap. He also played rugby for the province and toured Australia and New Zealand with the Springboks in 1956, playing his only Test on that trip. He was an accountant by profession.
