Adelaide native Andrew Leipus was the physiotherapist for the Indian team from 1999 to 2004, and played a pivotal role in reviving the general level of fitness of the side. Before that stint he spent two years at the Centre of Sports Medicine in Johannesburg. In 2004 he was offered a three-year extension to his contract with the BCCI but turned it down to spend more time with his family and on studies.
