Arthur Coy., OBE, who died at Port Elizabeth on May 15, 1983, was a prominent member of the South African Cricket Association during the days of strictly segregated cricket, being its president from 1953 to 1955 and again from 1957 to 1959. He had captained Eastern Province before the Second World War, in which he served with the Royal Engineers, and was much in the news at the time of the D'Oliveira affair in 1968.
