Profile

A gritty allrounder, Shane Burger is a servant to the game in Gauteng: the 2010-2011 season will be his tenth for his province. He captained the amateur side in the 2007-08 and 2009-10 seasons and led the team to the SAA Provincial One-Day Challenge title in 2007-08. Burger is a medium-pacer who can operate with the new ball, as a change bowler or at the death, and has proved himself as a consistent wicket-taker in all forms of the game. His batting down the order is an asset, especially his ability to marshal the tail when needed.
