ICC World Twenty20 - 7th match, Group B

Sri Lanka v Zimbabwe

Sri Lanka won by 14 runs (D/L method)

2.1

Chigumbura to Dilshan, OUT, gone, Dilshan's horror patch shows no sign of ending, and that shot said it all. Short of good length and straight, and Dilshan is not in the kind of form Mahela is, but still went through with the straight lofted drive. Timing was conspicuous by its absence, and it ballooned for an easy catch towards mid off.

TM Dilshan c Mpofu b Chigumbura 2 (8m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Sri Lanka 24/1   DPMD Jayawardene 21* (9b 2x4 2x6)   E Chigumbura 0.1-0-0-1

8.4

Lamb to Perera, OUT, wonderful catch by Chigumbura in the deep to send Perera back! Full toss from Lamb, dealt with in violent fashion by Perera, who was again eyeing the long on boundary, but he could not get enough elevation this time. Chigumbura runs to his left from long on and takes it a couple of feet inside the ropes. Well taken!

NLTC Perera c Chigumbura b Lamb 23 (24m 19b 1x4 2x6) SR: 121.05

Sri Lanka 80/2   DPMD Jayawardene 52* (29b 6x4 3x6)   GA Lamb 1.4-0-15-1

11.1

Cremer to Sangakkara, OUT, Sanga will not get out to a poorer ball, how ever hard he tries! Rank long hop on middle, that sat up with the turn and asked to be deposited outside the ground, Sanga tried to pull it away and got a farcical top edge that lobbed straight up for a simple catch at short fine leg.

KC Sangakkara c Price b Cremer 3 (9m 7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 42.85

Sri Lanka 96/3   DPMD Jayawardene 63* (37b 6x4 3x6)   AG Cremer 0.1-0-2-1

12.6

Utseya to Chandimal, OUT, this time he's found the fielder, and this time, the fielder has held on to the catch! Similar shot, down the track, towards long off, just not enough to clear the boundary and it was taken easily.

LD Chandimal c Mpofu b Utseya 9 (6m 8b 0x4 1x6) SR: 112.50

Sri Lanka 113/4   DPMD Jayawardene 68* (40b 7x4 3x6)   P Utseya 3-0-25-1

16.2

Lamb to Mathews, OUT, gone! Mathews goes hard with the slog sweep, but can't time it half as well as his incredibly in-form partner at the other end, it lands in the hands of Erwine at midwicket who jumps at the right instant to pull it in. Great catch!

AD Mathews c Ervine b Lamb 4 (12m 6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

Sri Lanka 138/5   DPMD Jayawardene 87* (54b 8x4 4x6)   GA Lamb 3.2-0-24-2

18.5

Price to Kapugedera, OUT, gone. It is on the pads and Kapu slog sweeps it in the air towards square leg, where Masakadza runs in and takes the catch. In the process, he puts his knee down and takes out a bit of the earth from the Providence outfield.

CK Kapugedera c Masakadza b Price 13 (12m 6b 0x4 2x6) SR: 216.66

Sri Lanka 166/6   DPMD Jayawardene 100* (63b 10x4 4x6)   RW Price 3.5-0-31-1

Price to Jayawardene, OUT, and at the end of the day, he proves he is human after all! Mahela jumps out again, looks to loft over long on and mis-hits one for the first time today. It makes contact high on the bat and goes straight up for a simple catch at long on. Please stand and applaud for this wonderful innings.

DPMD Jayawardene c Cremer b Price 100 (80m 64b 10x4 4x6) SR: 156.25

Sri Lanka 166/7   ST Jayasuriya 0* (0b)   RW Price 4-0-31-2
