Sidebottom to Salman Butt, no run, cracking delivery, that's the length to bowl, full but still climbing past the outside edge as it pitches and left Butt

Sidebottom to Salman Butt, no run, beaten again! This time some swing outside off, full again, Butt flinches at it aimlessly outside off and it zips past the edge

Sidebottom to Salman Butt, no run, three in a row now, pressure just building a fraction here, Butt advanced down the wicket but without much conviction, swished airily at nothing and the ball went through to the keeper

Sidebottom to Salman Butt, FOUR, poor ball to finish and Butt takes advantage, short and very wide outside off, like any decent batsmen, he loves it out there, throws his arms through the line, it flies down to deep point for four

Pakistan 11/0   Salman Butt 4* (4b 1x4)

Broad to Salman Butt, no run, starts rather well, decent length, decent line, Butt hops back and defends. Speaking of hopping, there is a frog on the field. How lovely.

Broad to Salman Butt, 2 runs, slightly shorter this time, allows Butt to rock back and flay a slightly mistimed pull towards midwicket, it's safe and he collects a couple

Broad to Salman Butt, 1 run, good from Broad, unlike the other two bowlers, he's hit his straps from the off, this one on a good length on off stump, Butt opens the face and guides it to a diving point fielder

Pakistan 19/0   Salman Butt 7* (7b 1x4)

Bresnan to Salman Butt, FOUR, top shot this, again it wasn't a great ball, nevertheless, Butt skipped down the wicket and inside the line of the ball and crashed it cross-bat through cover for four

Bresnan to Salman Butt, 1 run, well played again, this time quieter though, just angling it down to third man where Sidebottom fields well to keep it to one

Pakistan 28/0   Salman Butt 12* (9b 2x4)

Broad to Salman Butt, 1 run, better line this time but a fraction short, Butt skips back and deflects it to midwicket for one

Broad to Salman Butt, 1 run, short, outside off, Butt tries to deflect it away fine to third man and dropped by Kieswetter, fantastic effort, diving to his left but couldn't hold on

Pakistan 31/0   Salman Butt 14* (11b 2x4)

Bresnan to Salman Butt, FOUR, who needs style and finesse, when you can do this, walk down the track and slap it down the ground horridly for four

Bresnan to Salman Butt, 2 runs, again, not pretty, but it will do, Butt wanders down the wicket at a length ball and flings wildly at it, no timing at all but clears mid on

Bresnan to Salman Butt, 1 run, this time it's all wrists and delicacy, just clipped away from a fullish length to midwicket

Bresnan to Salman Butt, no run, this time it's on a good length and line and pushed away tamely

Bresnan to Salman Butt, 1 wide, oh my, very short, Butt ducks under it, although he could have jumped and it would have gone over him

Bresnan to Salman Butt, 1 no ball, not the smartest cricket I've seen, having just been wided for too high a bouncer, Bresnan slips in a high bouncer, to be fair, Butt did advance down the track

Bresnan to Salman Butt, 1 run, looks like Bresnan has learnt his lesson, this time pitches much fuller and it's dug out to point for one

Pakistan 44/1   Salman Butt 22* (17b 3x4)

Yardy to Salman Butt, 1 run, slung in low and on middle, Butt pushes it down to mid on

Yardy to Salman Butt, 1 run, Butt down on one knee and sweeping, connects well enough for a single

Pakistan 47/1   Salman Butt 24* (19b 3x4)

Swann to Salman Butt, 1 run, that will annoy Swann, just a fraction too short, allowed Butt to carefully sweep to deep midwicket for a single

Swann to Salman Butt, 1 run, nicely bowled and nicely played, full, flighted, spinning away, Butt very calmly opened the face to guide it into space at cover

Pakistan 60/1   Salman Butt 26* (21b 3x4)

Collingwood to Salman Butt, 1 run, worked into the off side for a single

Collingwood to Salman Butt, no run, nicely bowled, saw Butt advancing at him, dropped it a touch shorter and rolled his fingers over the ball, Butt's slash could find no timing

Collingwood to Salman Butt, 1 run, good again from Collingwood, slower and gripping off the surface, Butt tries to inject some pace into the ball with a big heave outside off, but can't time it well

Collingwood to Salman Butt, SIX, oh dear, drop short at this pace and you will be punished, Butt murders it over midwicket and is caught... in the crowds

Pakistan 70/1   Salman Butt 34* (25b 3x4 1x6)

Swann to Salman Butt, OUT, gone! Well, that's almost come out of nowhere. Butt danced down the track and lashes it skimming to cover, where Collingwood nonchalantly takes the catch. Crucial breakthrough for England

Salman Butt c Collingwood b Swann 34 (39m 26b 3x4 1x6) SR: 130.76

Pakistan 71/2   Salman Butt 34 (26b 3x4 1x6)
