ICC World Twenty20, 16th Match, Group F: West Indies v Sri Lanka at Bridgetown, May 7, 2010
ICC World Twenty20 - 16th match, Group F
Sri Lanka won by 57 runs
7 May 2010 (20-over match)

13.20 Teams have lined up for the anthems. Victor Darrell isn't too thrilled with the West Indian XI: "WI selectors have done it again!! They have got to be kidding!! Wavell Hinds? Where is Barath? or Simmonds?. They should have been in the squad ahead of Hinds and Fletcher. Hope Chris Gayle fires for our sake..Go WI."

Jayasuriya has the pads on, will he open the batting for Sri Lanka? Confirmed, Jayawardene and Jayasuriya at the top of the order. Kemar Roach has the new ball in his hand. This promises to be fun.

13.00 Sri Lanka have won the toss and choose to bat. Gayle says he would have also batted, seeing how Australia did after batting first.

The big news is Murali is back, after initial fears that he could be out of the tournament due to his injury. One other change for Sri Lanka is that Dinesh Chandimal has been left out, and Nuwan Kulasekara is back.

For West Indies, Narsingh Deonarine is not fit, and Nikita Miller has been dropped, fast bowler Jerome Taylor and Wavell Hinds take their place. Taylor will be playing his first international match in six months, will be exciting to see how he combines with Roach when given the new ball.

12.55 After a one-sided game earlier in the day, will we see a closer contest between the home side and Sri Lanka?

This is a mammoth total from Sri Lanka, bolstered by their two classiest batsmen, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara. West Indies bowling lacked intensity and the fielding was shambolic, too many chances missed. Still, there Chris Gayle and Pollard. Can they pull off a big chase? Or will it be as one-sided as the first game of the day?

Gary is one of many asking why Fletcher is picked ahead of Ramdin. Btw, for those you asking, Jayawardene-Sangakkara partnership of 166 is four short of the record for biggest Twenty20 partnership. Full list here.
