Played at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia (neutral venue)

Sidebottom to Jayasuriya, OUT, Sidebottom strikes straight away! Jayasuriya departs, very sad to see a great player reduced to this. Pitched up, fraction of movement away, regulation outside edge and neatly pouched at second slip

ST Jayasuriya c Collingwood b Sidebottom 1 (5m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 25.00

Sidebottom to Dilshan, FOUR, how about that to start! No need to play yourself in I guess. Dilshan stands tall and slams this from outside off stump through the covers for four

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, this should be fun, Dilshan looks in imperious mood. Who needs foot movement when you can stand perfectly still and thrash at the ball. No timing here though, and it trickles to mid off

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, good ball this, dragged the length back, Dilshan got into a tangle trying a front-foot pull and didn't connect

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, another back-of-a-length delivery, hint of bounce in the track, Dilshan stands tall and prods it into the covers

Sidebottom to Dilshan, no run, short once more, arrowed into the ribs, Dilshan not looking as comfortable on the back foot, fails to connect with his leg-side nudge. All action second over really.

Sri Lanka 11/1   RJ Sidebottom 1-0-4-1

Sidebottom to Sangakkara, FOUR, what a stylish start. Fuller outside off, and gracefully driven through point for four

Sidebottom to Sangakkara, no run, better from Sidebottom, closer to off stump, Sangakkara stands still and defends

Sidebottom to Sangakkara, no run, full and off stump, Sangakkara happy on the front foot, walking into a defensive shot

Sidebottom to Sangakkara, 1 run, Sidebottom searching for a special delivery there, pitching it full and looking for some away swing, as it is it's an easy leg-side flick for Sangakkara through midwicket for one

Sidebottom to Jayawardene, no run, back of a length this time, on off stump, good tight bowling, Jayawardene can do nothing but defend

Sidebottom to Jayawardene, 1 run, slower ball, never looked like deceiving the wily Jayawardene, he just turns his wrists over it and nurdles one wide of short fine leg

Sri Lanka 26/2   RJ Sidebottom 2-0-10-1

Sidebottom to Mathews, 1 run, back of a length once more, on and around off stump, Mathews stands still and prods it to midwicket for one

Sidebottom to Kapugedera, no run, slower ball outside off, a touch short, Kapugedera misreads it and swipes at nothing, gets in a terrible tangle

Sidebottom to Kapugedera, no run, this is bizarre, it's like watching in slow motion, short ball bouncer and eventually passes by another hideous hoik from Kapugedera

Sidebottom to Kapugedera, 1 wide, too short this time, and a touch too far down the leg side, Kapugedera again swinging wildly at nothing, comical viewing this

Sidebottom to Kapugedera, no run, oh dear! That pretty much sums things up. Slower ball bouncer, Kapugedera clueless, swipes himself off his feet, the bat flies out of his hands and almost knocks the square leg umpire out, predictably the ball passes harmlessly, slowly through to the keeper

Sidebottom to Kapugedera, FOUR, finally Kapugedera connects, swishing it down to deep square where, Lumb dives forward looking for the catch, but can't reach it, ends up clutching at nothing and it goes for four. Sidebottom knocks down the fielder with the palm of his eye, thunderous look

Sidebottom to Kapugedera, no run, nicely bowled and defended once more, very good over that

Sri Lanka 92/4   RJ Sidebottom 3-0-16-1

Sidebottom to Perera, 1 run, very good from Sidebottom first up, aims for the yorker and lands it perfectly, Perera swishes it down to long on, but only one there

Sidebottom to Mathews, 1 run, very good from Sidebottom, held his nerve and land his slower ball full, Mathews was looking for the short ball and can only succeed in guiding this to cover

Sidebottom to Perera, 1 run, full yoker, touch of reverse swing as well, Perera digs it out into the off side

Sidebottom to Mathews, 2 runs, Mathews will be pleased with this, it was another well-directed slower ball, swiped down to deep square and comes back for a sharp second

Sidebottom to Mathews, 1 run, OUT, another good ball, no mistake yet from Sidebottom, Mathews shoves it down to long on, comes back for a second, but he looks out of gas, the throw comes in one bounce, and beats Mathews

AD Mathews run out 58 (68m 45b 3x4 1x6) SR: 128.88

Sidebottom to Jayasinghe, 2 runs, decent finish, on a length and line, swung away down the ground, it was always going to be two, and Sri Lanka have just about managed to get themselves a score, but England will be happy

Sri Lanka 128/6   RJ Sidebottom 4-0-24-1
