A middle-order batsman from a distinguished cricketing family - two brothers have played for Ireland (Ed going on to represent England) as have his twin sisters - Dom Joyce has struggled to establish himself at the highest level, especially in limited-overs matches where his returns are meagre. He took part in Ireland's first ODI against England in 2006 - he made 0 - and was left out for subsequent tournaments, including the 2007 World Cup, but returned to the side later in the year as opportunities came with other absences.
