ICC World Twenty20 - 7th match, Group A

Bangladesh v Ireland

Ireland won by 6 wickets (with 10 balls remaining)

Toss: Ireland will have a bowl.

William Porterfield: "They keep coming at you. It's not going to be a easy game but we are up for it and ready to go. It's not a bad pitch, might turn out later but I don't think it's going to play a major part."

Ash:"Abdur Razzaq is playing. We wanted to bat first today. We have an extra spinner. It will be good for us against Ireland. Rubel has bowled really well; he is quick. I hope we play good cricket and win today."

"We know this is a 'final' between the two of us to see who goes through. You know now that's for definite. But it was always going to be that we had to get two points in this match." - Porterfield

1.1

Johnston to Junaid Siddique, FOUR, drifts to the pad and Junaid flicks it uppishly but wide of the short fine-leg fielder. It appeared as if he wanted to flick it over square leg but ended up dragging it finer

1.2

Johnston to Junaid Siddique, 1 wide, slips further down the leg side. Junaid tries to repeat his earlier shot but can't reach it

1.2

Johnston to Junaid Siddique, OUT, Junaid combusts. It was full and straight, he went for the big lofted hit down the ground but got too much under the ball and hit it straight up. It swirled in the air as it came down but the fielder did well to cling on to it.

2.4

Rankin to Tamim Iqbal, FOUR, Top shot. It was not all that short, it was not all that wide - in fact pretty close to the off stump - but Tamim stayed adjacent to the line to cut it superbly to backward point boundary

2.5

Rankin to Tamim Iqbal, no run, His problems with the leg side shots continue. Again misses the flick off the hips and is hit on the pad

2.6

3.2

Johnston to Mohammad Ashraful, 1 run, Dropped by Kevin at first slip. It moved away from Ash who hung his bat out ala Kris Srikkanth, even opening the bat-face to almost guide to first slip. It should have been easily caught but what a clanger ..

9.1

McCallan to Mahmudullah, OUT, Tamim is run out! Comedy of errors. It was turned to the on side and there is confusion right away. Yes and no. The keeper rushes out, picks the ball and darts it to the bowler. More drama. Tamim loses the bat and the bowler fails to collect the throw. Tamim rushes on, trying to jump into his crease. Cusack to Mahmudullah, OUT, Awesome work from Neil O'Brien. What a fine stumping , standing up to the mediumpacer. It was a full length delivery, the batsman went for the big swing across the line and missed it. The back foot was well inside the crease but while finishing the stroke, his back foot was lifted in the air slightly before it came down. In a flash the keeper had removed the bails! What a fine piece of keeping from O'Brien. The third umpire says that's out and what a game Ireland are having.
