Pakistan 4/0   Kamran Akmal 4* (2b 1x4)   DW Steyn 0.2-0-4-0

Steyn to Kamran Akmal, FOUR, Slap. Wham. It was well outside off stump and Akmal flayed that. The ball flew through cover point in a flash.

Pakistan 8/0   Kamran Akmal 8* (6b 2x4)   DW Steyn 1-0-8-0

Parnell to Kamran Akmal, FOUR, Akmal is on fire. Third boundary for him. It was short in length and moving away from him, he quickly got back and across to pull it hard past square leg.

Pakistan 12/1   Kamran Akmal 12* (7b 3x4)   WD Parnell 0.3-0-4-1

Parnell to Kamran Akmal, FOUR, Smith makes a mess at wide mid-off. Another lovely shot from Akmal. He leaned forward to drive superbly to left of mid-off where Smith gets across but doesn't bend down quickly enough.

Pakistan 16/1   Kamran Akmal 16* (8b 4x4)   WD Parnell 0.4-0-8-1

Parnell to Shahid Afridi, FOUR, Afridiiiiiiiii! It was a length delivery on the off and middle line, he stood tall and whacked it on the up and high over mid-on for his first boundary.

Pakistan 22/1   Shahid Afridi 4* (1b 1x4)   WD Parnell 1-0-14-1

Kallis to Shahid Afridi, FOUR, Thwack! It was dug in short but it didn't climb that high, just below chest-high, and Afridi pulls it hard over midwicket

Pakistan 37/2   Shahid Afridi 9* (7b 2x4)   JH Kallis 0.4-0-5-0

Kallis to Shahid Afridi, FOUR, Crash! Kallis tries to get another short-pitched delivery going but again, it doesn't climb all that high, at least not as high as he wanted and Afridi whacked it over wide midwicket in style. What an eventful start this has been. Afridi blew a kiss to Kallis, Kallis isn't thrilled!

Pakistan 43/2   Shahid Afridi 15* (9b 3x4)   JH Kallis 1-0-11-0

van der Merwe to Shahid Afridi, FOUR, moves down the track and wants to lift it over long-on but ends up dragging it, mistiming it, to wide long-on boundary. He will take the mishit!

Pakistan 65/2   Shahid Afridi 28* (23b 4x4)   RE van der Merwe 1.1-0-10-0

Botha to Shahid Afridi, FOUR, Afridi backs away to the leg side, Botha tries to fire it in, ends up as a full toss and Afridi thrashes it to cover boundary

Pakistan 74/2   Shahid Afridi 35* (27b 5x4)   J Botha 1.3-0-11-0

Botha to Shahid Afridi, FOUR, Even better shot. Botha had slowed up the pace on this, given it more air, Afridi, who had moved outside leg again, waited before lifting it over extra-cover

Pakistan 78/2   Shahid Afridi 39* (28b 6x4)   J Botha 1.4-0-15-0

Botha to Shahid Afridi, FOUR, Crash. Bang. Wallop. Again, intelligent stuff from AFridi. No mindless slogging this. He moved outside leg, waited for the full delivery to arrive before lofting it to extra-cover boundary.

Pakistan 82/2   Shahid Afridi 43* (29b 7x4)   J Botha 1.5-0-19-0

Botha to Shahid Afridi, FOUR, Whaddaaplayaaa! After three big inside-out lofted drives he unfurls a delicate late cut! he has shown great control today. It was skidding just outside off stump - Botha had moved to round the stumps - Afridi hung on the back-foot, opened the bat-face and ran it down to third man boundary

Pakistan 86/2   Shahid Afridi 47* (30b 8x4)   J Botha 2-0-23-0

van der Merwe to Shoaib Malik, FOUR, low full toss and Malik connects well with his sweep shot and collects a boundary.

Pakistan 104/3   Shoaib Malik 24* (30b 1x4)   RE van der Merwe 2.3-0-18-0

Duminy to Shoaib Malik, FOUR, flighted outside off stump, Malik went down on his knee to dispose it over the leaping extra-cover fielder. Very fine shot.

Pakistan 113/3   Shoaib Malik 30* (33b 2x4)   JP Duminy 1.1-0-8-1

Duminy to Younis Khan, FOUR, Ah! the reverse sweep now. Younis stretched forward to reverse it hard well clear of short third man. The crowd roar. Huge support for Pakistan

Pakistan 118/3   Younis Khan 10* (5b 1x4)   JP Duminy 1.4-0-13-1
