India in Zimbabwe ODI Series - 4th ODI

Zimbabwe v India

India won by 9 wickets (with 115 balls remaining)

James Prince: "Dhawan gets "rested" after a 100 in the series. Rohit gets retained after being given 100 chances. Rahane and Good Reason are crying for some consideration."

Only a few minutes until the start of the game. Sibanda and Raza are opening the batting for Zimbabwe. The debutant Mohit Sharma will open the bowling, medium-pace from over the wicket.

8.45 am Joy Bajaj: "India have done the right thing. Dhawan has been outstanding and playing non-stop cricket so he's rested. Vinay has been below par so he goes out. Pujara & Mohit deserve their debuts. No one's talking about Rahane though? He seems to be waiting since eternity. Rasool will get his chance but resting Mishra doesn't make sense as he's playing after a while himself. So good call overall."

Karthik B: "Rahane is a better fielder and ODI player than Pujara. He should've got a chance rather than Pujara. Also, Pujara is certain in the test squad. Sir RJ should've been rested for Rasool"

prozium: "@kartick..Rahane list A average is 36, pujara's is 56..and both have similar strike rates..so how can Rahane be a better Odi batsman than Pujara can you explain?"

Ack: "Rahane must be seeing nightmares about that ugly dismissal to Maxwell in Kotla. In some way, he still seems to be paying for that."

Akshay Dandekar: "Mishra didn't need to be rested, Rasool could have come in for Jadeja who has also been playing continously for a while."

Narayanan S: "@Karthik B: Why do people think that Rahane is a better ODI player than Pujara. Rahane's ODI average is 25 from 16 matched and his list A average is 36 from 78 matches. Pujara has a list A average of 56 from 61 matches. Fielding you may have a point, but not batting abilities."

8.30 am Dirk Viljoen, doing the pitch report for Ten Sports, says the ground staff have never disappointed in Bulawayo. He says the only time the ball is going to move is in the early morning, afterwards it's going to be a belter. He says 280 is needed.

Rajas: "I don't even want to say that it would be unreal if Pujara did not play this game, because it is unreal that he has not played already. It is not a case of "we have won this series, let us test out bench", because he is not only a first choice quality player, but maybe one of the best on the whole team."

Virat Kohli calls heads, and he's won the toss. India will bowl first because it is a fresh wicket, Kohli says. He wants to give whatever assistance is there to his bowlers. India have rested Shikhar Dhawan and Vinay Kumar and are giving debuts to Cheteshwar Pujara and Mohit Sharma. So Parvez Rasool will have to wait a bit longer.

Zimbabwe are playing an unchanged XI.

DM: "YAY! Pujara opening with Rohit. Excellent!!"

If you haven't followed domestic cricket in India, you might be wondering who Mohit Sharma is? Here's some information on him.

Pranay: "Though happy with Pujara and Mohit's inclusion, they should have gone with Rahane in place of Rohit and parvez in place of Mishra as well. if you don't play them here, where will you?"

Sharat: "All this talk about testing the bench strength, but shouldn't India be wanting to test their strength against the conditions, aka choose to bat first and see if the batsmen can play well when the ball is moving around?"

Prachi: "Finally....Cheteshwar Pujara making his much deserved debut. Like the idea of resting Shikhar Dhawan rather than some other out-of-form batsmen."

Karthik B: "Rahane - A better fielder and ODI player than Pujara. He should've got a chance rather than Pujara. Also, Pujara is certain in the test squad."

8.10 am Good morning, the series has shifted to Bulawayo for the fourth and fifth ODIs. India have already taken the series with a 3-0 lead so they might try out a few new things today and test bench strength. Zimbabwe will be desperate to score at least one victory in the last two games. It's a clear day at Queens Sports Club.

While India have been on a roll in England, the Caribbean and in Zimbabwe, the skeletons have been rattling in the IPL's closet once again. You can catch up on the events of the last few days here.

It's ballebaaz in Hindi, but what is the Shona and Ndebele word for batsman? Liam Brickhill's diary on radio commentary in the local language in Zimbabwe is a fascinating read.

So will India give Parvez Rasool and Cheteshwar Pujara a debut today? Maybe even Mohit Sharma.

Rohit Kumar: "Today India need to try there 2nd Bench strength (1. Cheteshwar Pujara in place of Rohit sharma, 2 MM sharma in place of vinay kumar 3. Parvej rasool in palce of Suresh Rania). 1st Bench strength already tried in 3 odi's."

Chander: "Will Pujara get a chance today? The only problem with trying Pujara seems to be that he will disturb the regular team. Once he gets in, it will be hard to ignore his class. This might mean end of career for below talent/par performers like Rohit Sharma or Suresh Raina!"

Manoj Kundu: "It is the right time to test the bench strength of India for the upcoming season. So, today I think we may enjoy the batting of Pujara as well as bowling of Mohit and most importantly parvez Rasool."

Vikram: "Hope to see Rahane,Pujara, rasool and mohit playing today! Especially about pujara who has good technique! i think He would cement his place given an opportunity"

Keerat: "I know everyone is expecting India to play their bench after securing the series, but would anyone really be surprised if they played the same winning XI? I wouldn't."
