New Zealanders 344 for 8 (Williamson 86*, Ross Taylor 51) v Zimbabwe A
Kane Williamson followed up his unbeaten century in the last ODI against Zimbabwe with an unbeaten half-century on the first day of the New Zealanders' two-day match against Zimbabwe A in Bulawayo. Williamson had to retire hurt after reaching a half-century but returned later in the day to move to 86 not out, as the visitors ended on 344 for 8. Brendon McCullum's form continued as he got his side off to a quick start with 63 from 66 balls. Zimbabwe A took a couple of quick wickets but then Williamson and captain Ross Taylor laid a solid foundation. Taylor also retired hurt when on 51.
Zimbabwe A made a comeback through spinners Natsai M'shangwe and Prosper Utseya, who took five wickets between them to spark a collapse of five wickets for 28 runs. But Williamson returned and put together an unbeaten 46-run stand with No. 11 Jeetan Patel.
