Pakistan in Zimbabwe T20I Series - 1st T20I

Zimbabwe v Pakistan

Pakistan won by 25 runs

Even though Zimbabwe's bowling wasn't that bad against India, it was their batting and fielding which let them down. Pakistan's openers Nasir Jamshed and Ahmed Shehzad have walked out and the first ball is going to be bowled soon. Prosper Utseya to open for Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe have won the toss and will bowl first.
Brendan Taylor: We have tried not to focus much on the off-field controversies and everybody is in a good frame of mind. Hopefully our players will play with a lot more freedom in this series.

Mohammad Hafeez: It's important to start well and we'll take one game at a time. The last tour was very good and our confidence is very high. Sohaib Maqsood is going to debut today as we want to give opportunities to youngsters.

Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the first T20 between Zimbabwe and Pakistan in Harare. The T20 series will kickstart Pakistan's tour which also comprises three ODIs and two Tests. A lot has happened off the field for Zimbabwe starting from a threat, formation of a players' union and the retirement of Kyle Jarvis. Pakistan, unlike India, have arrived with a full-strenght squad here and will look to continue their T20 form from West Indies.

Dirk Viljoen says in the pitch report that the ground has a superb outfield and the team batting first should look to score around 160. The pitch looks very dry and has a few cracks.

Kanishkaa Balachandran says in the preview that Zimbabwe will face a tougher opposition in Pakistan, as opposed to India. Our South Africa correspondent Firdose Moonda's series preview weighs in the different factors that have troubled Zimbabwe and how they have fared since their Test comeback in 2011.

Pakistan have put up a competitive 161 after losing early wickets. Zimbabwe could have done better after taking two wickets in the first four overs but they bowled either too full or too short and Ahmed Shehzad paced his innings very well to post his highest T20I score of 70. This is Vishal signing off and Alagappan will take you through Zimbabwe's chase. Cheers!

"When afridi scores only 23 after facing 16 balls, you can understand its not easy to bat on." The ball was stopping a bit at times as it's a slow pitch and was not coming on to the bat that easily, Sumit.
