Kenya have rejected an invitation from Zimbabwe Cricket to participate in the Faithwear Cup, Zimbabwe's domestic one-day tournament.
Last year's tournament was blighted by poor standards and was widely criticised. The Zimbabwe board is acutely aware of this and is keen to improve standards, and bringing in sides from overseas is a well-trusted way of achieving this which has been successfully used in other countries.
A fortnight ago, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) operations manager, Chris Chiketa, announced that Kenya had been invited to take part, but a Cricket Kenya spokesman told Cricinfo that the invitation had been declined as the dates coincide with the six-nation World Cricket League which is being held in Nairobi.
