South Africa in Zimbabwe ODI Series - 2nd ODI

Zimbabwe v South Africa

South Africa won by 8 wickets (with 65 balls remaining)

Welcome from Keith for the Cricinfo ball-by-ball coverage of the 2nd ODI between Zimbabwe and South Africa. Today we are at the Harare Sports Club for this weekends double header after the Bulawayo South African win, by 5 wickets, on Wednesday. We might see three changes for South Africa with Gibbs, Steyn and Albie Morkel coming in for Bodi/Duminy, van der Wath and Tshabalala. There has been no news of the Zimbabwe team. South Africa have won the toss and are fielding first. Steve Davis and Russell Tiffen are once again the umpires and they will watch Sibanda and Masakadza face up to Pollock. Was a slight surprise to see Smith deciding to field first on what looks to be a belter of a pitch.

0.1

Pollock to Masakadza, 1 run, Pollock starts with a off cutter that beats the big defensive stride from Masakadza, got the inside edge to save a huge appeal

0.2

Pollock to Sibanda, no run, this one shapes away from Sibanda, leaves and good carry to de Villiers keeping wicket

0.3

Pollock to Sibanda, no run, once again going away off the seam, no shot

0.4

Pollock to Sibanda, no run, on the button from the start from Pollock, pitches and goes away off the seam, well left alone

0.5

Pollock to Sibanda, no run, on line, fullish, goes on the drive but the movement again gets the right hand side of the driving bat, ball hardly gets off the table

0.6

Pollock to Sibanda, no run, well forward and defending, to end a good over from Pollock

Ntini will shar the new ball with Pollock and this wicket may help him a little more than the slow one in Bulawayo

people all around Bosman, and a stretcher being brought out, looks like his shoulder is hurt and also banged his head very hard.

Nothing wrong with the placement of the hoardings, they are well past the boundary rope, it was just that Bosman did not realise that he had crossed the rope and only then took off on the dive, going head and shoulder first into the metal boards.

Game will conitinue with the medical staff working on Bosman where he fell, we will keep you informed

Steyn to Brent, 2 runs, full on the off, drives to the off, cover sweeper has too much to do to save the second and thats the end of the innings

A very good comeback from Zimbabwe after a slow start and they have posted a competitive total against a side that has shown some rust in the bowling department. This not taking anything away from Williams and Matsikenyeri who hopefully will have been an inspiration to the top order. The news of Bosman is that he will be kept in hospital with numbness to his legs and hips. The chances of him coming back to bat should be less than zero. Lets hope that he recovers quickly and our and your best wishes go to him.
