If you'd asked Andrew at the beginning of 1999 what his ideal job would be, he would have said, "Something involving cricket coaching and development with room for some strategic planning and long term goal setting. Travel to unusual locations would be a fantastic bonus."

Therefore when he learnt of his appointment as the Regional Development Manager for the East Asia-Pacific region, in April 1999, he was delighted to move from his native Auckland to set up an office at the headquarters of the Australian Cricket Board in Melbourne.

Andrew is a lawyer by profession, but abandoned his legal career at a very early stage to devote himself to his true love - cricket. He worked throughout the 1980's and 1990's as an Administrator, Coach and Manager in Auckland for his local club, Suburbs New Lynn, and for the Auckland Cricket Association. In the late eighties he spent a number of years backpacking through Africa, Asia and South America. In the mid 1990's, he returned to university to complete a Masters Degree in Sport Law.
